Base Jump Video: Watch Terrifying Parachute Fail from Konakova, Russia

Please, don't jump. Please, don't jump. Please, don't jump. 

That's pretty much what I was thinking watching this video from YouTube simply entitled, "Base Jump from High Voltage Line Goes Wrong, Konakova."

Thanks to Bob's Blitz for alerting us to the most terrifying video of the day. 

This is set up so perfectly that you almost feel as if it were staged. The base jumper boards a tall power line that from my vantage point looks way too short to be a spot for base jumping. 

Perhaps the apprehensive jumper wanted to start small, a decision that is crucial in the rest of the video. I will go ahead and believe the YouTube description that this man actually lives in the end.

Miraculously, the man survived the fall after the powdery snow cushions his fall.

He was even able to walk again after three months after fracturing his vertebrae, pelvis and legs.

It hardly makes watching any easier as he gets to the edge, ready to jump, and his hand shakes continuously throughout. 

It's at this point that you realize his worst fear is, "please, don't let my parachute fail." Well, it does. 

Many will claim this is a Wile E. Coyote moment, but I can't help but hear Goofy's scream all the way down before our jumper is lost in a cloud of cartoon-like smoke. 

No, I think I will go ahead and cross base jumping off my bucket list.
