Top Fights to Watch
Cung Le vs. Patrick Cote, Middleweight
The kickboxer/actor/UFC fighter Cung Le is looking to hold onto a career at the age of 40. He was supposed to face Rich Franklin, but Patrick Cote has replaced him and will provide enough of a battle.
Cote has won his last four bouts, the last two did not go past the first round.
These two fighters like to go for the knockout, so do not be surprised if this one does not go the distance.
Forrest Griffin vs. Tito Ortiz, Light Heavyweight
This battle of former light heavyweight champions should provide a lesson of technical skill. Each of the two veterans knows what it takes to win and will put it all on the line to win.
Ortiz is certainly on the decline, winning only one of his last eight matches, but the 37-year-old fighter refuses to quit.
Griffin and Ortiz have faced each other twice, each winning once in a split decision.
Anderson Silva vs. Chael Sonnen, Middleweight
According to the challenger Sonnen (via USA Today), the main event for UFC 148 is the "biggest fight of all time."
He has proved he is worthy of this match, and during their last fight Sonnen showed that he has the ability to defeat Silva. Going into the final round, he led on all of the judges' scorecards. If the fight went to a decision, he would have left with the title.
Unfortunately for Sonnen, Silva was able to get a triangle armbar and get a submission.
Fans will hope that this rematch will approach the thrills of the first battle in UFC 117.
