Report: Jamal Crawford to Clippers
David Aldridge is reporting on twitter that Jamal Crawford has agreed to sign with the Los Angeles Clippers for four years, $25 million.
With the addition of Crawford, it should take them out of the running for free agent Ray Allen, who is visiting the Miami Heat today. Allen has been recently recruited by LeBron James and Chris Paul, but now all signs are pointing to Miami.
It's also rumored that Chauncey Billups will join Jamal Crawford and re-sign with the Clippers. Crawford spent last season with the Trail Blazers after many seasons with the Hawks, Knicks and Bulls. Crawford is entering his 13th season in the league, but it doesn't look as if he's lost his game. He's known as a sharpshooter, especially from three-point range, but he does have the ability to drive to the lane.
After the Clippers recently lost Mo Williams, a finesse shooter was needed in Los Angeles. Luckily for the Clippers, they got two in Billups and Crawford. On paper the Clippers look outstanding. They now have Chris Paul, Blake Griffin, Caron Butler, Chauncey Billups, Jamal Crawford, Deandre Jordan and Lamar Odom. They could definitely be considered the most talented team in the NBA.
Jamal Crawford is a great addition to a young team looking to compete in a fierce western conference. You didn't think the Clippers were just going to let the Lakers get all the attention with the Steve Nash trade yesterday, did you?
