Manchester United Transfer News: Tracking All the Latest Rumors and Updates
Manchester United have been strong throughout the summer transfer window—signing Shinji Kagawa from Borussia Dortmund as well as youngster Nick Powell from Crewe Alexandra.
The Red Devils continue to be linked and rumored to be interested in a number of different players, so we've put all the latest rumors and updates in the one place for you to track.
Read on to see who could be coming to Old Trafford this summer.
Lucas Moura
1 of 10Tipped by many as the "next big thing" in Brazil, Sir Alex Ferguson has reportedly made Sao Paulo midfielder Lucas Moura his top transfer priority.
The United boss has sent out a delegation including head scout Jim Lawlor to put together a deal with the 19-year-old who has been on the Red Devils' watch list for some time now—including flying his father to visit Old Trafford earlier in the year.
Paul Pogba
2 of 10United midfielder Paul Pogba will officially leave the club over the summer transfer window after agreeing to a deal with Italian champions Juventus, much to the ire of Sir Alex Ferguson.
The Red Devils manager reportedly blasted the teenager for not showing the proper respect to United during the process—hardly heartbroken and mournful for the loss of one the hottest prospects to come out of United's Academy in recent years.
Dimitar Berbatov
3 of 10Dimitar Berbatov was expected to leave Manchester United at the end of the year after being pushed further down in the strikers' pecking order at Old Trafford, but will reportedly stay at the club and see out the remainder of his contract.
The 31-year-old Bulgarian is unlikely to receive the £90,000 per week that he currently receives from United from another club and knows that his best chance is to stay on as a reserve this season and try his luck as a free agent at the end of next season.
James Rodriguez
4 of 10Manchester United transfer target James Rodriguez has denied rumors that he is heading to Old Trafford over the summer transfer window—stating that he is more than happy to remain at his current club Porto next season.
The 20-year-old was touted by many to be a possible replacement for United winger Nani, but has confirmed his commitment to the Portuguese club, stating that he is "happy and very pleased to be able to continue with the club... I want to win more titles here".
Robin Van Persie
5 of 10With Arsenal captain Robin van Persie sensationally confirming he won't sign a new deal with Arsenal, Manchester United have reportedly joined the race to sign the Dutch striker.
The Red Devils will have to contend with a Manchester City unit rumored to be tabling a £220,000 per week offer for the striker, though the Citizens do have the issue of having several high-profile and in-form strikers already at the club.
Van Persie is still on contract with Arsenal until the end of next season, so don't expect any deal to either club to be announced any time in the near future.
Anderson
6 of 10According to reports in Portugal, Benfica are believed to be putting together an offer for United midfielder Anderson, as they cash in on highly sought after midfielder Axel Witsel, who'll we get to in a minute.
Anderson didn't feature much for United last season and with the return of Darren Fletcher and signing of Shinji Kagawa, is likely to spend even less time on the pitch next season—making him a potential sweetener in a move for Witsel.
Fernando Llorente
7 of 10Multiple media outlets have recently linked Spanish striker Fernando Llorente to Old Trafford this summer.
The 27-year-old is believed to cost around £30 million due to a release clause in his contract, but is considered one of the best up-and-coming strikers in world football and could provide further depth to United's attack.
Having said that, with Berbatov staying and Welbeck finding form at Euro 2012, I can't see the Red Devils spending the money to get Llorente this summer.
Joao Moutinho
8 of 10Portuguese international Joao Moutinho has been linked to Manchester United over the transfer window, but might not be making a move this summer as Porto are keen on retaining the midfielder next season.
The club's vice president Fernando Povoas stated that Moutinho was "one of the best players at the Euros"—hinting at a possible new deal with the 25-year-old, despite interest from United and other clubs.
Axel Witsel
9 of 10Benfica are reportedly willing to cash in Axel Witsel over the transfer window, with United looking to do battle with Chelsea for the Belgian international.
Witsel is rumored to cost around £20 million, though with Benfica's interest in Anderson apparent, this figure could be reduced by United should they use the midfielder in a possible deal.
Leighton Baines
10 of 10And wrapping up our Manchester United transfer news is Everton defender Leighton Baines, whose future next season is still largely unknown.
The Red Devils have been strongly linked with the English international, and with Baines himself commenting that Everton's current financial problems could force the Toffees to sell him over the transfer window, we may well still see a deal take place sometime in the next few weeks.
