Softball Video: Watch Grandma Get Owned by Line Drive in Family Pick-Up Game

Grandma hangs a fat one and one of her relatives just slams a line drive, taking her back to grade school. 

At least, that's how I saw it. 

Judging by the YouTube description, this is a dated video, but we couldn't help ourselves. Call it a dedication to all things slapstick. 

We found this gem over at NBC Sports and we tip our Internet hats in their direction, because we can't stop playing and re-playing this magical moment when family togetherness actually caused physical harm to the matriarch. 

I know I have seen this trick before, though. Oh yeah, old-timey chubby guys taking cannonballs into the gut. 

I really only have one question for this great time that turned awkward in a hurry: What the hell is grandma doing on the bump?

Stick her in left field where defensive liabilities make a name for themselves. Let her standout there, play the part and come up and mash when it's her turn in the lineup. 

The second greatest part of the video has to be the young man who runs to first base until it dawns on him that he may have just killed his grandmother, and this fine picnic day. 

That's when his race to be safe at first comes to a slow crawl, and then the stark realization: I'm guessing I will have to make my own peach cobbler.
