WWE: Why A.J.'s Crazy Character Is Just Not Believable to WWE Fans

Don’t look now, but the cute little girl with the devilish pixie smile is about to break some poor wrestler’s heart. 

In this case, it’s A.J. Lee. The hottest thing in the WWE going today is the centerpiece of controversy with a character that seems to be building steam as her psychotic ways are running roughshod over the WWE wrestlers and possibly the WWE Universe.

But is she believable?

Right now, it appears the most “interesting” diva to come through the WWE since Melina may be too obvious in her plan of attack.

Maybe that also spells trouble for both Daniel Bryan and CM Punk in their WWE Title match at Money in the Bank.

We have seen some pretty good storylines over the years in the WWE—Lita/Kane/Matt Hardy, Trish Stratus/Christian/Chris Jericho, Lita/Matt Hardy/Edge and Triple H/Stephanie McMahon/Test—but this one strikes a chord with us for many reasons. On being that the WWE Champion, CM Punk, seems to be encouraging the behavior of the psychotic one.

And remember, for everything Punk says, digging crazy chicks will be a comment that will live in wrestling lore.

While we like A.J. and the cute smile and sexy body, there is something missing in her character. Lita and Trish were more straightforward. Scary Sherri Martel was more flamboyant. Sable was more striking (in more ways than one). 

When there is a measuring stick, Lee is toward the bottom. The concept is good, but the connection is lacking.

For the times and era, Lee is perfect because of her cuteness, but there is a lack of direct sexiness that is associated with a torn-between-two-lovers type of angle. There are other female wrestlers (Eve, The Bella Twins, Layla) who could all pull this off with more fervor.

There is something lacking in Lee’s character, but she is adorable doing it.

In order for more believability, there needs to be a hook to her persona, not the idea of just some crazy chick.

If there is to be a summer full of A.J. Lee, then make her character more believable and have her remain active in the WWE’s Diva Division (yes, she and Layla must meet).

If things remain the same, she is just another pretty face in the diva crowd.
