Report: Are the Brooklyn Nets Still in Play for Dwight Howard?
Just when you thought the Dwight Howard sweepstakes were crazy, things have been ramped up a bit. In a report from ESPN's Chris Boussard, he drops the bombshell that even with the acquisition of SG Joe Johnson, the Nets are still in play.
"Sources: The Nets & Magic are discussing a trade that would send Dwight Howard to Brooklyn for Briik Lopez, Kris Humphies, Marshon Brooks...

This would have giant implications on where Deron Williams will land.
For quite some time, it has been reported that Dwight Howard has wished to leave the Orlando Magic, and as recently as yesterday, he was quoted as saying Brooklyn was the only place he wished to play.
With the core of Gerald Wallace, Joe Johnson, Dwight Howard and Deron Williams, the new looking Brooklyn Nets are immediate contenders in the East.
Now the ball is in the court of Williams, as he was supposed to decide where he would be playing for the 2012-2013 season. You have to think this trade has a great impact on where he will land.
Joe Johnson is a great scorer and a top five shooting guard in the NBA.
Williams is one of the better point guards in the league as well, and add to that a dominant center like Dwight Howard, and this team is an immediate contender.
This is a fluid situation, and the facts are changing by the hour.
Stay tuned.
