Chelsea Transfer News: Tracking All the Latest Rumors and Updates

Dan TalintyreJun 1, 2018

With the European Championships complete, it's back to the rumor mill for our daily source of information and speculation.

For Chelsea, the summer transfer window has already been a successful period with the acquisition of Eden Hazard, but it's highly unlikely that owner Roman Abramovich will stop with the signing of just one player.

Several players around the world have been linked to Stamford Bridge and several more have indicated they may well leave Chelsea—so much so that in order order to keep up with all the latest rumors and updates, we've put them all in the one spot for you.

Read on to see who could be coming to the Blues next season.

Victor Moses

1 of 8

Chelsea have reportedly had their £6 million bid for Victor Moses rejected by Wigan Athletic, with the club warning potential suitors that the winger is not for sale for anything less than £10 million.

The 21-year-old would be an excellent addition to the Blues lineup and would add further depth to their squad, though for £10-12 million, you'd have to say that he simply isn't worth the asking price and that the money could be better spent by Roman Abramovich.

John Terry

Cashed-up French team Paris St. Germain have reportedly launched an audacious bid for England international John Terry, with the club believing that Terry's age and current stress with his upcoming court appearance could drive him away from Stamford Bridge.

A £8 million deal is being thrown around, but as far as likelihood goes, this is one of the more ridiculous transfer rumors of the summer transfer window. Terry will not be leaving Chelsea, he will not be doing it for £8 million and he certainly won't be doing it straight after the club won the Champions League.

Daniel Sturridge

3 of 8

Chelsea striker Daniel Sturridge is being linked with a potential move away from Stamford Bridge over the summer, with Tottenham rumored to be interested in the 22-year-old as a replacement for Rafael van der Vaart.

With the official confirmation of former Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas as the new Tottenham manager—a manager that Sturridge got on well with—perhaps this rumor isn't as far-fetched as some of the other ones doing the rounds at the moment.

Especially if he will only cost Spurs around £10 million to bring in.

Luke Shaw

4 of 8

Chelsea are rumored to be putting together a £4 million bid for Southampton defender Luke Shaw as the Blues look to consolidate their defense over the transfer window.

Shaw is just 17 years old, is an academy graduate and has made appearances for the first team already, and Southampton have reportedly taken a stance against selling the teenager to any club, for any price.

Axel Witsel

5 of 8

Belgian international Axel Witsel has been a long-standing Chelsea target and with current club Benfica reportedly signaling their intent to sell the midfielder over the summer.

Benfica are believed to want around £20 for Witsel—a figure that could potentially drive Chelsea and other transfer target Manchester United out of a potential deal.

Maicon

6 of 8

Chelsea are believed to be the frontrunners for Brazillian defender Maicon, after reports that Real Madrid have dropped their interest in the Inter Milan player.

Maicon is reportedly valued at around £6 million by the club, and would provide Chelsea with experience and assurance in defense. However, at 31, there will no doubt be serious question marks as to the transfer fee and player wages involved.

Stevan Jovetic

7 of 8

No new information is available regarding the possible transfer of Fiorentina forward Stevan Jovetic, with the London club still believed to be in discussion about a move over the summer.

Chelsea reportedly had a bid of £20 million dismissed by the club, and appear likely to try another offer of around £25 million for the striker.

Hulk

8 of 8

The same goes for Brazillian target Hulk, with no new information about a deal available.

Chelsea have been linked to the Porto striker for a long time now, but with the Brazilian continuing to emphasize his love for his current club and the apparent worldwide interest in him, perhaps a move to Stamford Bridge isn't as likely after all.

Chelsea do have the appeal and lure that few other clubs have, and they do have this little thing called the Champions League trophy in their cabinet, but it may not be enough to secure Hulk next season—as desperate as the Blues are to bring in a new striker.
