The Doctor's Weekly WWE Raw Recap: The 157 Things We Learned, Loved and Hated
Welcome, ladies and gentlemen, to my weekly recap list. I always appreciate my loyal readers, but for those of you who are new, each week I recap Raw with a long list.
The entries are made up of equal parts observations, humor, recap, play-by-play, revelations, speculations, questions, answers and anything else I notice during the show. I sometimes comment on commercials, too, just because I get bored during them.
Recently I have had a few people ask me why I put this in a list format and not in a standard paragraph-by-paragraph format. That is a great question.

I do this in a list format for two reasons. The first reason is that I find it is easier for people to comment when they can simply reference a specific list item instead of copying and pasting a portion of the article or making a comment without it being clear what it was in response to.
The second reason this is in a list format is because I will make occasional references to things unrelated to the show itself and it makes less sense if something random appears in the middle of a match breakdown paragraph.
I try and interject some fun into these lists, so I hope you have fun reading this week's list of the things we learned, loved and hated from the show.
1. The show opens with a video highlighting Chris Jericho's return last week and Big Show's attack on John Cena.
2. Interesting. Daniel Bryan will be teaming with Chris Jericho to face CM Punk and Cena later.
3. Cena's music hits and a girl who had on a Dolph Ziggler shirt and was in the line of sight for the camera lost her mind.
4. John Deere comes out to one of the best reactions he has had in a long time.
5. I remember in 2007 that any city he went to would have the roof blown off by his pops. Now you can't predict what kind of response he will get.
6. Cena talks about Money in the Bank.
7. Kudos to the guy who made a Jericho sign, complete with real lights on the jacket. That is dedication.
8. Cena gets interrupted by Daniel Bryan, who is doing his Yes chant on the mic as he comes down sans music.
9. The crowd is actually chanting No at him. I am a little surprised.
10. Bryan says he didn't even realize Cena was out here because he is irrelevant.
11. Bryan talks about how he will beat CM Punk for the title at MITB.
12. Bryan says if Cena wins then he will be the first person to lose while cashing in and that is when Punk makes his way out.
13. Punk disagrees with Bryan, but doesn't that mean he thinks Cena would successfully cash in on him?
14. I know he is talking about the outcome of their match, but he was also talking about Cena failing to cash in, so Punk should be more specific.
15. Bryan gets pissed that Punk is making the crowd chant "yes".
16. How many people are going to get involved here? Jericho comes out next.
17. Ha. Punk calls Jericho Bon Jovi. The haircut does draw the comparison, for sure.
18. Nice. Jericho pulls out the "Would you please shut the hell up?" line.
19. Two for two! He welcomes us to Raw.
20. He pulls out another classic to prove that Bryan needs to get another catchphrase.
21. That was a nice trip down memory lane. It was good to see Jericho smiling during that, too.
22. As Jericho declares that he will win MITB and "dares anyone to tell him otherwise," we see Kane's pyro hit and he comes out to make this a five-man dance.
23. Kane says, "otherwise," and that is all.
24. As Big Show's music hits and he comes out, all hell breaks lose as Bryan attacks Cena.
25. Kane and Show square off and Show puts Kane down with a lot of ease.
26. Big Red Monster my ass.
27. Two questions: What is a social ambassador, and why is it Charlie Sheen?
28. The Prime Time Players, Darren Young and Titus O'Neil, come out, followed by their partners Cody Rhodes and David Otunga.
29. Interesting that everyone came out to PTP's music. Rhodes is a much bigger star than any of these guys, so I would have expected his music to be used.
30. Kofi Kingston, Christian, Santino and R-Truth come out to face them. Little Jimmy is happy to be back on TV.
31. Every non-WWE or World Champion is facing their respective rivals apparently.
32. Christian starts out with Young.
33. Truth tags in and he and Kofi hit a double-team on Young.
34. O'Neil saves Young from a Boom Drop but Kofi just leaps out of the ring to take out O'Neil.
35. The two teams square off outside the ring as we head to commercial.
36. O'Neil is in control of Kofi when we return.
37. AW is yelling from ringside. His voice really carries.
38. Santino and Otunga get tagged in and Santino gets a near fall.
39. AW ends up taking his team out of the match and they leave Otunga and Rhodes all alone.
40. Rhodes decides not to tag Otunga and he bails, too.
41. As Otunga looks bewildered as to why he is alone we hear Brodus Clay's music hit to provide the distraction.
42. As Otunga tries to run away, Clay throws him into Santino's Cobra and the champs win the match.
43. Christian hits the Killswitch on Otunga after the match and he sets up for Clay to hit his big splash.
44. Everyone dances to end the segment.
45. How can a segment involve nine superstars and accomplish almost nothing?
46. Teddy is shown getting down in the back as Alberto Del Rio walks in.
47. Long lets Del Rio know that he has a title match at MITB, and Del Rio is elated.
48. Teddy says he also has a surprise for Del Rio in his match tonight.
49. We get an awesome flashback to when Shane McMahon was training Vince McMahon to face Steve Austin.
50. Stephanie looks freakin' amazing as she recalls the moments.
51. Ricarodo Montalban brings out Del Rio for his "Teddy's Surprise" match.
52. I still think Ricky should come out in hie beater before Del Rio comes out in his luxury cars.
53. Sin Cara is his opponent. I guess because they are in Texas they felt the need to have a match between two Mexican superstars.
54. Del Rio attacks Cara before he even gets all the way in the ring as the crowd chants something obscene in Spanish.
55. Del Rio puts the Cross-Arm Breaker on Cara at ringside and it looks like this match won't be happening.
56. AJ is backstage and Daniel Bryan walks up with a rose for her. He says he is sorry for how he has been treating her.
57. She knows straight away that this is a ruse.
58. She bites the head off the rose and spits it on the ground before walking off.
59. I am really digging this new confidence AJ has developed over the past few weeks. It really accents the psychosis well.
60. That last sentence belongs in a medical text book, somewhere.
61. Hahaha! The look on Paul Heyman's face as they showed someone preparing him for a "Via satellite" segment was absolutely priceless. His eyes were so big.
62. After the break, Heyman addresses Triple H's challenge.
63. He says Brock Lesnar will respond on the 1,000th episode of Raw in three weeks.
64. How is no one in Hollywood calling this guy to play an attorney? Heyman would be so awesome in a courtroom scene on Law & Order.
65. AJ and Sheamus are facing Dolph Ziggler and Vickie Guererro after the break.
66. I can honestly say that I am looking forward to seeing what AJ does just as much as what Ziggler and Sheamus will do, and it is not often I can say that about a mixed tag match.
67. AJ and Vickie having their own feud separate from the Punk/Bryan feud is a good idea. It allows for more development to AJ's insanity and it gives Vickie something to do besides holding ZIggler back.
68. Wow! Vickie got almost no response compared to what she usually gets and considering this is Texas, that is even more shocking.
69. AJ comes out next, followed by Sheamus.
70. Vickie shoves AJ, who tries to lunge at her, but Sheamus holds her back.
71. Ziggler and Sheamus officially start the match and they trade back and forth before Ziggler gets a near fall after a dropkick.
72. Does anyone else remember when Bob Holly actually used the dropkick as his finisher because he could do the best dropkick in the business.?That is what Ziggler's dropkick reminds me of.
73. Ziggler hits a nice kick to Sheamus while he is draped over the middle rope, and then he follows it up with a jumping DDT.
74. Sheamus comes back and sets up for the Brogue Kick but Ziggler tags in Vickie.
75. Sheamus hits him with the kick anyway.
76. Whoa! AJ hits Vickie with a huge Shining Wizard to win the match. That was fantastic!
77. AJ grabs the mic and chants "Yes" as she skips her way to the back.
78. AJ is shown after the match looking for CM Punk, who is on the phone when she walks up.
79. She wants to know who he is talking to (like she thinks it is another woman).
80. Punk says he didn't see her match because he was talking to his sister and she gets upset that he wasn't paying attention to her.
81. She walks off and Punk shrugs. I was wondering how they would have her start seeming like she was too much crazy for Punk to handle.
82. Heath Slater is in the ring, which must mean the next legend is going to come out to beat him up.
83. A series of clips is shown of how he has been destroyed by every legend who has appeared in recent weeks.
84. Slater says he is not a clown, and that is when Doink's music hits.
85. I thought DDP was going to do this tonight. What the hell!?
86. I wonder who it is under the makeup this time? I think Super Crazy actually performed as Doink for WWE once.
87. Slater gets in a few moves on Doink and actually gets the win with a running neckbreaker.
88. SELF HIGH FIVE!!!
89. DDP is out and congratulates Slater on his win.
90. DDP ends up hitting the Diamond Cutter on Slater to get a big pop.
91. He hit that like he was Orton hitting the RKO. DDP still has it in him to have one more good match in my opinion.
92. A nice video of John Cena and Alicia Fox visiting wounded soldiers is shown.
93. Kane is out once again to face Big Show in a no DQ match.
94. Show starts off strong against Kane.
95. Kane avoids a big boot on the outside but Show still puts him into the steel steps.
96. Kane and Show both try for a choke slam and both fail, but Show ends up with the advantage.
97. Show brings a chair into the ring but Kane meets him with big rights and a DDT.
98. OH! That looked nasty.
99. Kane grabbed the chair but when he turned around, Big Show was there to deliver a spear, causing the chair to hit Kane in the face. Show hit his shoulder on the chair pretty hard, too.
100. Show choke slams Kane onto the chair and gets the win.
101. Nice. Eve is backstage talking to Teddy. Teddy is not interested in her sucking up.
102. Teddy hands her an over-sized name tag like the one she made him wear and he walks off. Eve sees AJ and goes over to talk to her.
103. She accuses AJ of copying her mind games technique. AJ calls her a brown-noser and says Eve will do anything to get attention, especially now that Johnny Ace is gone.
104. Del Rio shows a flashback of when DX invaded WCW. I couldn't believe that when I first saw it. I thought Vince had gone off the deep end, but it ended up being an iconic moment.
105. Sweet! Tyson Kidd is in the ring. He got a jobber entrance, but that didn't stop him from winning on SmackDown.
106. Tensai is his opponent. I have a feeling Kidd is going to really look like a jobber in this match.
107. What?! Kidd wins with a rollup in about 30 seconds!
108. This is either an awesome sign of things to come for Kidd or a bad sign for Tensai.
109. Tensai demolishes Sakamoto after the match once again.
110. Jericho is backstage making sure every rhinestone is in place on his jacket and Bryan walks up and they start arguing about their jackets before having a duel of catchphrases. That was weird.
111. Punk is shown talking to Cena and he says Cena should follow his lead, which Cena seems to find funny as he walks off.
112. I hope Jericho goes full face and turns on Bryan during the match. I want to see him be a good guy again even though he is one of the best heels in history.
113. Tensai attacks Tyson Kidd backstage as he is talking to Josh Matthews.
114. I really hope Tensai and Kidd have a feud which puts Kidd over. I have wanted Tyson Kidd to get a real shot at success for a long time. He is overflowing with talent.
115. Jericho is out first, followed by Bryan.
116. Punk comes out before John Cena comes out last to what I think is the loudest reaction for any of the four men in this match.
117. Here is a little stat for you. Chris Jericho debuted in ECW in 1996, meaning he has been wrestling on US television for 16 years. John Cena has been on WWE TV for 10 years and CM Punk has been on WWE TV for six years, meaning Jericho has as much time on WWE TV (because WWE owns the rights to ECW and WCW) as Cena and Punk combined.
118. Were people just chanting "Meat" at Daniel Bryan? That is brilliant.
119. Punk and Bryan start things off, and Punk gets the early advantage.
120. Cena tags in and after a few moves we see Bryan book it over to Jericho to tag him in.
121. Y2J is getting a very positive response as he locks up with Cena.
122. Cena tries for an AA but Jericho pulls himself out to the apron only to be propelled into the barricade by Cena.
123. This match was going great before a commercial ruined it.
124. Cena is down when we return, and Jericho gets a near fall.
125. Jericho taunts Punk as he kicks Cena in the head.
126. Jericho misses a Lionsault, and Cena tries to crawl to the corner to make the tag.
127. Bryan gets the tag first and he cuts off Cena from his corner and starts hitting a series of powerful kicks to Cena before hitting a running dropkick in the corner.
128. Cena botches a Fisherman's suplex attempt and ends up falling a little bit. Jericho does his best to recover by immediately applying a front-face lock.
129. Jericho drops Cena with a DDT and gets another two count.
130. Cena throws Jericho into the corner when Y2J tries his signature one-handed bulldog and Cena is able to make the tag.
131. Punk springboards into the ring and hits Bryan with a clothesline.
132. Punk has a head of steam as he starts hitting all his signatures on Bryan.
133. Anaconda Vise.
134. Cena and Jericho start fighting and end up going all the way to the back, leaving Punk and Bryan alone in the ring.
135. They are going back and forth pretty quickly when Bryan slows things down with two huge kicks to Punk's head for another near fall.
136. The crowd is really into this match right now. So am I.
137. Punk meets Bryan on the top turnbuckle and he hits a superplex from the very top, which he rolls into a pin for another close fall. Impressive.
138. AJ comes out and skips around the ring but Punk and Bryan are not looking at her and she seems pissed.
139. She gets on the apron and tries to yell for them, but they are still duking it out.
140. They collide in mid-air while both trying for a cross-body and AJ goes under the ring to get a table. As both men are down she is setting up the table at ringside.
141. Is she going to take a swan dive into that thing just to get some attention?
142. She walks up the steps and starts to climb the turnbuckle slowly. She might really do this.
143. It's not worth it, AJ! You have so much to live for, like stalking Punk and buying friendship bracelets. OK, maybe you don't, but still...
144. Bryan gets in front of her and pleads with her not to do it, and Punk steps in as well.
145. AJ locks lips with Punk as he climbs up the ropes to block her.
146. Holy crap! She just shoved Punk off and he landed on Bryan so they both went through the table.
147. This s*** just got real.
148. AJ starts screaming "Yes!", which the crowd responds to with "Si!"
149. It looks like Punk has used up all his "crazy chick credit."
150. Wow! What a way to end the show. I honestly did not see that coming. I figured she would turn on Punk eventually, but I thought it would happen during the title match and with her going back to Bryan afterward.
151. I am thoroughly invested in this storyline now. I cannot wait to see where it goes from here, and I can only pray that WWE does not mess up one of the best Divas they have.
152. I thought tonight's show was particularly strong. Kidd got a rare win and Tensai still looked powerful.
153. Pretty much every match was good except the eight-man tag, which ended in ridiculous fashion.
154. Jericho was very entertaining tonight and I hope WWE eventually turns him baby face again. I think a lot of fans want the Ayatollah of Rock 'n Rolla back.
155. It was great to see DDP. He looked like he was in the best physical shape he has been in since WCW, and he hit that Diamond Cutter like he had been doing it daily since leaving WWE.
156. After the show a pretty funny commercial airs for Raw going three hours. It has the old concept of someone misunderstanding something, and after it goes through numerous people, it ends in something ridiculous. In this case it was Khali potentially giving Vince McMahon a prostate exam.
157. The part with Kane randomly saying "I have to bake a cake?" with a confused look on his face caught me off guard and made me laugh.
