Broussard just tweeted that the Dwight saga is over. "Dwight blew it in March when he waived opt-out clause," says Broussard's source close to the situation involving Nets

It was just reported by ESPN's Chris Broussard via twitter that sources have confirmed the Atlanta Hawks and Brooklyn Nets have agreed to terms that would land Joe Johnson in Brooklyn; however, the deal is contingent upon Deron Williams agreeing to remain with Nets.

In the deal, Brooklyn would send over a handful of expiring contracts along with a first-round pick. The Hawks receive Anthony Morrow, Jordan Farmar, Jordan Williams, Johan Petro, a signed-and-traded DeShawn Stevenson and a 2013 lottery protected pick first-round pick.

This is good news for the Nets because they keep MarShon Brooks and Gerald Green, whom Brooklyn thinks highly of.

Upon agreement, Brooklyn automatically gets better having a starting core that would include Williams, Gerald Wallace, and the newly acquired Johnson. This core could certainly compete with role players surrounding them, but I am far from convinced that this is a championship team.

If the deal goes through, it could mean Dwight Howard won't be forcing his way to the Barclay's Center. All the cap space that would be available would be gone, and it would be virtually impossible to place a Brooklyn uniform on the center.

What should Brooklyn do? What will Deron Williams think about this move? Will he accept or force Brooklyn to stick to the plan of acquiring Dwight Howard?

Broussard is also reporting that the Nets management have called for a meeting with point guard Deron Williams, and are running their plans of acquisition by him for approval.
