WWE: 4 Former WWE Champions That Could Join the MITB Ladder Match

Scott CarasikJun 3, 2018

There currently are only four men in the WWE Title Money in the Bank Ladder Match. They will only added former champions but they could make one of the highest profile matches by adding any of these men.

The WWE would be smart to expand it over the just four men as it would make it much more interesting for fans. And by making it more interesting, the WWE will make its own buy rates rise for its slow summer season.

The Miz

1 of 4

The Miz is out filming The Marine 3. Should he finish within the next couple of weeks, he should go out there and compete as a surprise competitor at the PPV. He would be someone that could benefit from a face turn.

Miz could also come in and be an epic heel by taking out some of the best guys and create a feud by helping Big Show win the contract. Miz could also help Show and then turn face by beating the hell out of him with the case and stealing it for himself.

Alberto Del Rio

As crazy as it seems, he was a former WWE Champion. Del Rio isn't the kind of guy that deserves a WWE title nor does it seem like he would be put into this match due to his feud with Sheamus. However, it seems like the WWE is trying to milk Dolph Ziggler for a bit and turn him face eventually.

Should the WWE give Ziggler that push he needs, Del Rio would be left without a storyline and bumping over to the WWE Championship qualifier only makes sense.

Batista

3 of 4

There have been rumors that Batista is returning to the company (h/t WrestlingRambles.com). And while it's not the ideal thing to have him come right back in and do a ladder match to return, it makes sense to have him come right in and compete in the main event.

Batista is someone who could be considered somewhat of a hired gun and could easily be worked into the match as part of the Cena vs. Big Show storyline. He could be the biggest wild card out there should he come back to the WWE.

Rey Mysterio

4 of 4

Rey Mysterio is finally done with his 60-day suspension. He's a former champion and someone the fans would love to see come back. If he is healthy enough, the WWE would be remiss to not bring in the top high flyer for its brutal yearly ladder match.

That being said, Mysterio is in the same boat as Randy Orton. He wouldn't win a match like this as he could be fired with his next failed drug test. But the WWE would be smart to add him to the ladder match as he would do nothing but add more excitement to it.
