Ice Climber Video: Watch Unbelievable Near-Death Mountain Climb
So this guy almost died.
I have no way of knowing how steep this drop is, or how far it is to the bottom where his body would have rested in a heap.
From where my fat butt sits, in a mass of acrophobia and a general laziness to do anything more than a 100-meter hike, the dude would have died.
There isn't a great deal known about this video we found over at BroBible other than my hands are now clammy and I now have a new fear of things that are melting.
The YouTube description merely states this is ice climbing Kennedy Gully.
The video is simply remarkable when you listen in to the folks on the other side of the camera. It seems they are just in the right place at the right time and happen upon this lone ice climber.
If so, the melting ice and subsequent collapse of the sheet is pure luck. The climber looks to be spent in both energy and options as the ice continues to melt around him.
I guess that makes sense when you decide to go up a slowly-trickling waterfall. I would have opted to stay on the ground and tear into the rations, but that's me.
He gets a lifeline of sorts from his new friends and hooks in. Moments later the sheet falls and he goes tumbling back, eventually saved by the rope.
He then makes it to the top with what I presume to be very soiled under garments.
