Manchester United Transfer News: Fabio Da Silva Joins QPR on Loan

Dan TalintyreJul 2, 2012

Manchester United defender Fabio da Silva will spend the upcoming English Premier League season at Loftus Road after announcing a deal with Queens Park Rangers.

According to Manchester United's official website, the Brazilian full-back will spend the entire campaign next season at Queens Park Rangers, where he will operate under former Red Devils star Mark Hughes.

Fabio struggled for first-team opportunities last season and will relish the opportunity to spend extensive time in a starting lineup next season. Hopefully, this will provide great experience for the defender and will bring great reward for the Red Devils in the future.

Fabio averaged two tackles and 1.6 interceptions per game last season for the Red Devils, despite his limited minutes on the pitch.

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson hinted back in April that a move for the youngster was imminent, stating that:

"

I think a year out at a good level playing every week will make Fabio a real top player for us.

"

The news comes at the same time that his twin brother Rafael has extended his contract at Old Trafford until 2016—excellent news for all United fans.

It is not yet known when da Silva will start training and participating with Queens Park Rangers.

Do you think the season on loan will be a good thing for Fabio da Silva?
