Chelsea Transfer Rumours: 6 Biggest Names Still on the Blues' Radar

With the transfer window underway, Chelsea are ready to make some moves.

There is bound to be some madness around Stamford Bridge this summer, and it will be interesting to see what deals Roman Abramovich can pull off. After all, Chelsea are the European champions, and they will be sure to make a crazy couple of moves.

Ideally, the Blues could lock up some youngsters for the future, but that's not what this article is about. Chelsea's first team needs some more stars (right?), and the summer offers the perfect opportunity to get them.

Here are six of the biggest names left on Chelsea's wishlist.

Victor Moses

After a successful season at Wigan Athletic last year, Victor Moses has found his name near the top of Chelsea's transfer list.

According to the Daily Mirror, the Blues tabled a £6 million bid for the 21-year-old, but Wigan owner Dave Whelan has demanded £12 million for his forward.

Chelsea must now decide if Moses is worth it or not.

The Latics star has proven that he can compete in the Premier League, and he is still young. The new price tag might be an extreme jump, but it isn't the most unreasonable price for a proven, young striker.

Gregory Van Der Wiel

At the beginning of June, it looked like Gregory van der Wiel would be in a Chelsea uniform next season, according to ESPN.

However, after a disappointing Euro 2012, his potential move to Chelsea seems uncertain. He didn't play too well in the tournament, and like most of Holland's defense, he was embarrassed against Portugal.

Chelsea haven't ruled this move out yet, but it will be interesting to see how Roberto Di Matteo handles the Van der Wiel rumours moving forward.

Maicon

One of the best right-backs in the world could be on his way to Chelsea.

Maicon isn't the player he once was, but he is certainly an upgrade from Jose Bosingwa. Furthermore, the Brazilian is listed at a very reasonable price.

According to the Daily Mail, Chelsea are now the favorites to sign Maicon for around £6 million. Obviously, he isn't the best solution, but he could still give Chelsea a strong, skilful right-back to fill out the defense.

Stevan Jovetic

Chelsea aren't completely satisfied with their strikers at this time, and could therefore make a big-time move to buy Stevan Jovetic.

The Fiorentina forward could be on his way to London.

According to La Gazetta dello Sport (via the Daily Mail), Chelsea's initial £20 million bid was rejected. However, it appears that the Blues could get their man for £25 million.

He would be a luxury, but Roberto Di Matteo doesn't seem to completely trust the strikeforce that Chelsea currently have in place. Jovetic would surely strengthen the front line, and it would give the team an incredibly deep striking corps.

Hulk

Hulk's potential move to Chelsea has seen several bumps in the road.

The Brazilian now seems to be playing hard to get, according to Globoesporte.com (via ESPN). He would be a great addition to the team, and he knows it.

Obviously, Chelsea aren't the only team involved, and Hulk is addressing that very issue. He's ready to wait until late August to make a move.

The Blues must not wait that long.

If Hulk wants to come to Chelsea, this move will happen in the next two weeks. If it doesn't, Chelsea need to cut their losses and move on.

Luka Modric

Speaking of cutting losses—Chelsea aren't ready to do that with Luka Modric quite yet.

After multiple unsuccessful attempts to sign the Croatian last summer, Roman Abramovich is set to launch a £36 million bid for the midfielder, according to the Daily Express.

It's all happening again.

At this point, Modric is the crush that Abramovich simply can't let go. The Chelsea owner has thought about him for over a year, he's been blocked from seeing him and he's persevered, but ultimately, he can't quite get him.

We've all had a buddy go through this pain before. We all know how it ends.

Please, Roman, just give it up before you really get hurt. There are plenty of other midfielders that are just as good. Just try not to think about him.
