Charlton Secure 2-0 Win
Therry Racon and Nicky Bailey secured a 2-0 win for Charlton, to move them just seven points from safety, and just three points from 23rd spot. Charlton had been training at The David Beckham Academy this week after rain and snow caused the training grounds to be unplayable, and the academy's name must have rubbed off on Therry Racon, after scoring a spectacular 20-yard curler that Mr. Beckham himself would have been proud of.
Charlton fans were celebrating five minutes after the break when Charlton were gifted a penalty by referee T. Kettle. But it counted for nothing as Plymouth 'keeper Romain Larrieu saved the spot-kick.
Bailey made up for the miss though, as he was sent through by a Tresor Kandol—who was making his Valley debut along with Darren Ward since joining from Leeds United and Wolves respectively—flick on, before controlling well and taking the ball around over-worked Romain Larrieu who slipped up to allow Bailey to slot into an open net.

Charlton should have added a third when again Bailey was sent through by Tresor Kandol but his volley flew over the bar. Darren Ward was counting his praises when he got a way with a high-boot when he caught a Plymouth striker on the cheek with his foot.
This was Charlton's second league win in 22 games. Maybe there is light at the end of the tunnel after all as both Southampton and Norwich lost their games, to give Charlton a magnificent lift in their fight for survival.
