SEC Football Top 150 Players: No. 60, Dee Milliner, Alabama CB
The SEC Blog will be counting down the top 150 players in the SEC every day, concluding on Aug. 30, at the start of the college football regular season.
60. Dee Milliner, No. 28, Alabama Cornerback
2011 stats: 27 tackles, one tackle for loss and three interceptions
Strengths
Milliner is a star in the making, who has been overshadowed a bit by Dre Kirkpatrick, Mark Barron and DeQuan Menzie in the Crimson Tide defensive backfield. The 6'1", 199-pounder is a fantastic cover cornerback that was a Parade All-American in the Class of 2010.
He led the Tide in interceptions last season with three, one of which he returned for a touchdown.
Weaknesses
He was essentially the third cornerback last season, but earned significant playing time as a freshman in 2010. It's his show now, and with that comes a different set of responsibilities. He has the talent to handle it, but he will have to prove it before being considered the SEC's top cornerback.
2012 Prediction
There are plenty of holes to fill on the Crimson Tide defense, but Milliner filling one shouldn't be of major concern. He learned the lay of the land during his first two seasons, and that experience will prove to be very beneficial in 2012.
