Tennessee's Lane Kiffin Incurs Yet Another Recruiting Violation
Tennessee's favorite comedy act, the Lane Kiffin Review took to the radio, (my God you idiots in Knoxville, why do you let this man speak or write?) and in an interview put Tennessee in yet another recruiting violation.
Every coach and student graduate assistant knows you can't discuss recruits by name and anything even vaguely concerning their statistics or abilities. Well everyone that is but King Kiffin, ruler of Idiotdom. One thing you can be sure of with Kiffin it seems, is to give him a microphone and he'll give you another article to write about how stupid he is.
The subject of this violation was centered around Bryce Brown, a running back from Wichita, Kansas, is rated as the No. 1 recruit in the nation by Rivals.com. He is scheduled to be in Knoxville for an official visit this weekend.
According to the NCAA, a coach is allowed to confirm to the media that a specific player is being recruited by that school, but the coach is not allowed to comment about the recruit’s ability. During the interview, Kiffin lumped Brown into a group of athletes he called “great players” and other such accolades.
In doing so, UT officials listening to the radio with catholic priest clutching rosary beads, Buddhist Priest chanting prayers and every other holy man they could find to cast a blessing that he could finally do something public without embarrassing them, used speed dial to call the NCAA and self report themselves yet again for yet another violation.
Now that his own boss has publicly called Kiffin a liar, (over the firing of an employee story) maybe I should too and ask for that test score he claims he made where he scored 49 out of 50 on his NCAA recruiting test. I honestly now wonder if he's ever even seen the rule book.
This is like the most basic of all recruiting rules. For Little Lord Fauntleroy just to sit there and blab his name and all kinds of information just astounds coaches and school officials alike.
This is not just a simple mistake, but colossal stupidity on Kiffin's part. UT officials are sending him yet another letter of admonition.
This breaks a record for Kiffin. We writers didn't have to wait a whole day to write yet another story on his shoot from the lip stupidity. Now we wait for UT's "official" statement in this matter and yet again continue to wonder how many more of the apologies they'll make before they get fed up doing them.
