Sunrise in the NFC East: The Division's Top Links on June 28, 2012

Welcome to Thursday, July 28, where the criticism and/or support of Tony Romo continues to dominate NFC East headlines. In our top links of the day, we also let you know that Eli Manning is indeed alive, while Michael Vick is apparently a jerk.

Dallas Cowboys

Chris Canty's talking again. This time, he's joining the parade of sports "experts" weighing in on Tony Romo, which is a common theme every June and July. From Jon Machota of the Dallas Morning News:

It doesn't stop there. Stephen A. Smith doesn't agree with Brett Favre's assessment that Romo is a victim.

It's never too early to break down 2013 futures odds, and the guys at The Landry Hat did exactly that.

According to a minority of his peers, DeMarcus Ware is the sixth-best player in the NFL and the best in the NFC East. We can agree on that.

New York Giants

A bogus report that Eli Manning had died in a car accident made rounds yesterday. I wonder how many people bit.

From Michael Eisen of Giants.com: Mark Herzlich is set to fight Chase Blackburn for the starting middle linebacker position. Assuming the Giants don't move Michael Boley over, this'll be a battle to watch in August.

Philadelphia Eagles

I linked to this the other day but didn't get to it for the Eagles yet. According to Mike Freeman of CBSSports.com, Michael Vick is the biggest jerk in the NFL, and DeSean Jackson isn't far behind.

Although he came 70th on the players' list, FoxSports.com ranks Vick as the 20th best player in the league on their list.

Washington Redskins

Deron Snyder of the Washington Times has some sound advice for rookie quarterback Robert Griffin III.

There's a lot of excitement in D.C., but Bleacher Report's Matt Dunn rains on the parade by dissecting some of the 'Skins biggest flaws heading into 2012. I don't think he gives the receivers or the running backs enough credit.
