Kevin James Video: Watch Trailer for New MMA Movie 'Here Comes the Boom'

I'll bite. 

That wasn't my first reaction on hearing that Kevin James would be taking on the world of MMA in his new movie Here comes the Boom, but the trailer sold me. 

Forgive me for having images of Paul Blart: Mall Cop still dancing in my head. 

That movie was so awful it pretty much left me with a bad taste for all things Kevin James and slapstick comedy in general. 

You could disagree, but you would be wrong. 

The unfortunate part is that I rather liked James and his stand-up comedy prior to the obvious jokes that featured incessantly in that movie. 

Well, I am ready to play the fool and saddle up for an MMA ride with this movie. 

While the premise of stepping foot into the Octagon for a middle-aged, out-of-shape teacher is outrageous, I am willing to bet there are some laughs to be had. 

It also looks like James got rather jacked for this role, and I will also go ahead and subscribe to anything Salma Hayek is featured in. 

The trailer has you cringing at the right places as James gets thrown, hit and decimated by better fighters. The back drop of a teacher stepping up for the good of his students will keep us captivated enough to the end. 

I am willing to step cautiously out on the limb to see this film. Call me a foolish optimist that wants to see MMA action and get some chuckles along the way. 

So help me, don't let me down, Paul Blart.
