Wimbledon 2012: Latest News Updates from All England Club
Day 3 of the 2012 Wimbledon tournament at the All England Club provided tennis lovers with plenty of action. There were a couple of favorites on the ladies' singles draw to fall on Wednesday, but that has become something of a normality at Wimbledon these past few years.
Things went according to plan on the men's side, though, as the heavy hitters that played on Wednesday all advanced to their next rounds.
Here are the latest news updates from the All England Club.
Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic Cruised in Round 2
Federer was particularly impressive in his second-round matchup against Fabio Fognini, winning the match 6-1, 6-3, 6-2. The entire thing was over in less than an hour-and-a-half, and Federer looked like he hardly broke a sweat.
Djokovic managed to get past his opponent, winning in straight sets against Ryan Harrison 6-4, 6-4, 6-4. The Djoker was in control of the entire match, though Harrison did provide a stern test.
After the match, Djokovic spoke to reporters, via Wimbledon.com:
""The match was much more difficult than the scoreline suggested. I was in trouble in the second set and it could easily have gone the other way. Ryan was serving fantastic. It was a close match because he performed really well but I got the crucial breaks in every set and that was enough to win."

Modesty suits you, sir. On to the next round!
Three of the Top-Seeded Ladies Were Upset
The No. 5, No. 7 and No. 11 players in the world on the ladies side will all be going home early this year.
Samantha Stosur lost to Arantxa Rus 6-2, 0-6, 6-4 in the biggest upset of the day. She is now focused on trying to get better on grass for the Olympics, according to Wimbledon.com, and is disappointed in her early exit.
Caroline Wozniacki was defeated by Tamira Paszek 7-5, 6-7, 6-4 in the second-biggest upset of the day. It was a brutally long match in which Wozniacki couldn't buy a break point if her life depended on it.
Finally, Na Li—last year's winner at Roland Garros—was defeated by Sorana Cirstea 6-3, 6-4. She was completly outmatched by an inferior opponent and needs to go back to the drawing board for next year.
It was an ugly day for these three women, and parity continues to rule on the ladies side.
