Caroline Wozniacki Upset by Tamira Paszek in Wimbledon 2012 Opening Round
Caroline Wozniacki's quest to win her first career Grand Slam will have to wait until the U.S. Open. The No. 7 seed on the female side of the bracket was upset in her first match at Wimbledon on Wednesday afternoon, per BBC Sport.

This is the second straight Grand Slam in which Wozniacki has been bounced before the end of the first week, as she lost in the third round at the French Open.
This loss hardly comes as a surprise, given that Wozniacki has always struggled at Wimbledon. She has never made it past the fourth round of this tournament in her career, though this does break her three-year streak of making it to that point.
On the court, Wozniacki has had a rough season. She was the No. 1 ranked player in the world and seemed poised to do big things after making a run all the way to the quarterfinals of the Australian Open.
Unfortunately, she ran into the buzz-saw known as Kim Clijsters on that day and has gone downhill ever since. All told, she is a very pedestrian 22-12 in 34 matches this season with no singles titles on her resume.
Paszek is riding a nice wave of momentum here. She won the WTA AEGON International event that ended the day before Wimbledon started. I am not saying that she is going to go on and win the tournament, but she has something going right now.
