Alabama Football: Will Eddie Lacy Be the Next Great Alabama Running Back?

Barrett Sallee@BarrettSalleeSEC Football Lead WriterJune 27, 2012

Mark Ingram and Trent Richardson have set the bar pretty high for running backs in Tuscaloosa. Ingram took home Alabama’s first Heisman Trophy following the 2009 season, and Richardson made the trip to New York as a Heisman finalist in 2011.

With Richardson gone, it’s Eddie Lacy’s turn to step up and keep the momentum going at what’s rapidly becoming a modern-day “Running Back U.”

Those are certainly big shoes to fill for Lacy, who has 1,080 yards in two seasons at Alabama. Can he handle the pressure? SEC lead blogger Barrett Sallee and Your Best 11 lead blogger Michael Felder debate.
