John Cena promised a big announcement and he delivered. On Monday night's Raw, the popular wrestler told the world he was going to compete in the upcoming Money in the Bank ladder match.
WrestleZone.com tweeted out the news.
John Cena will be in a money in the bank ladder match next month.— WrestleZone.com (@WRESTLEZONEcom) June 26, 2012
The buzz for this announcement began when Cena not so inconspicuously tweeted out:
This will be the first time that Cena has participated in a MITB ladder match, and it is not surprising that now would be when the company picked to feature him in this ladder match.
Cena hasn't been a champ in a year, and it is about time for him to return to his throne. What better or more compelling way to accomplish this than through the MITB?
This is going to be a Raw-only match, featuring WWE champions. He is set to fight his way up the ladder against Y2J, Kane and Big Show. There will likely be a couple more added to the lineup as well.
Whoever else is in the ring is inconsequential at this point. Cena is going to be the only one that will rip the briefcase from the ceiling. There is just too much juicy drama to be had with Cena holding the ticket to call for a championship match anytime he wants.
With Cena involved for the MITB, the hype for the event is now popping off the charts, and this is one event that should live up to the hype.
