WWE News: Heat on Randy Orton for Tweeting He Wants to Turn Heel?

According to WrestlingInc., WWE officials are reportedly upset with suspended superstar Randy Orton over a tweet he wrote on June 6.

Here's the tweet:

“@EricCullum: @RandyOrton So when you come back now will you be a heel because of the suspension? ‪#AgeofOrton‬ ‪#heelorton‬” We can only Pray

Basically, WWE is upset with Orton for implying that he wants to turn heel? 

What's wrong with that?

As I wrote in a previous article regarding the tweet,

Who could blame him for wanting to be a heel? Perhaps Randy Orton knows what many fans already know: that Orton is much better as a heel than he is as a baby face. His poker face, monotone voice, mannerisms and remorselessness all suggest that Orton's true nature is that of a heel. His past actions also suggest that it's in his nature to be a heel.

Back to the subject of WWE being upset with Orton's tweet.

One of the few things I like about WWE wrestlers using Twitter is that most wrestlers seem to be free to be themselves on Twitter. They seem to be able to say whatever it is that they want to say. We get to see a different side of the wrestlers than we see on TV.

Did you know CM Punk is an Immortal Technique fan? I know, thanks to this tweet by Punk last Friday:

(For those who do not know, Immortal Technique is one of the most controversial rappers around today.) 

And who knew Jinder Mahal had a sense of humor? I didn't until I read this tweet:

So what?

Twitter is a great place to learn more about wrestlers. Twitter humanizes them. So, WWE should not restrict wrestlers from saying what they want to say on Twitter. Save kayfabe for television.
