Wimbledon 2012 TV Schedule: Complete Viewing Information for Grand Slam Event
Viewership of Wimbledon 2012 will be a touch different than in years past. Sports media giant ESPN is taking over full coverage of the two-week event.
Following the men's final in July 2011, ESPN announced they had acquired the full broadcasting rights for both the men's and women's Wimbledon in a 12-year deal.
The network's coverage of the event starts in 2012, with ESPN and several brother networks covering the entire tournament. Coverage starts early Monday morning (June 28) and ends with the men's and women's single finals on July 7 and 8, respectively.

NBC previously held most of the broadcasting rights to the tournament. Their 43-year run of covering Wimbledon—including 32 years of live coverage—will end in 2012. The ESPN report stated that NBC was "simply outbid" for the deal.
ESPN and ESPN2 will cover the majority of the event live, with ESPN3 and the WatchESPN mobile application also contributing coverage. ESPN on ABC will also run several tape-delayed reruns before producing a three-hour long highlights show during Sunday of the second week.
ESPN will take full control of the coverage starting in the semifinals on both the men's and women's side. The women's semis start on July 5, with the men's kicking off one day later.
Starting Monday, ESPN will have coverage of the event every day except Sunday, July 1 until the tournament closes on July 8. In all, ESPN is planning over 140 hours of coverage, with 750 hours being available through ESPN3.com.
From former ESPN president George Bodenheimer, via the previously linked ESPN report:
""We are proud to have been a partner of The All England Club the past nine years and are thrilled to be given continuing responsibility for honoring Wimbledon's rich tradition. Over the next 12 years, we'll work closely together to move coverage of this great event forward with live coverage on television and using all the latest technologies and screens."
