2012 NHL Draft Live Coverage: Highlight Videos for Every Team's 1st-Round Pick

The 2012 NHL entry draft is finally upon us, and it is time to get things started. Throughout the night, we will keep you up to date on all 30 first-round picks, potential trades and other moves made in Pittsburgh.

Nail Yakupov is the top forward prospect in the draft, but will he be selected first? Ryan Murray is considered the top defensive prospect, and there is a good chance he will be taken by the Edmonton Oilers at No. 1.

Edmonton Oilers: Nail Yakupov

The Edmonton Oilers had the No. 1 pick in the NHL Entry Draft and selected Nail Yakupov of the Sarnia Sting. Yakupov scored 31 goals and assisted on 38 others for 69 points during the 2011-12 OHL season.

Yakupov will potentially accompany Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Taylor Hall as a top line made up of former No.1 picks.

Columbus Blue Jackets: Ryan Murray

With the No.2 pick, Scott Howson selected Ryan Murray from the Everett Silvertips of the WHL.

Montreal Canadiens: Alex Galchenyuk

The Montreal Canadiens select Alex Galchenyuk of the Sarnia Sting.

New York Islanders: Griffin Reinhart

The New York Islanders have selected Griffin Reinhart from the Edmonton Oil Kings.

Toronto Maple Leafs: Morgan Rielly

The Toronto Maple Leafs have selected Morgan Rielly with their No.5 selection.

Anaheim Ducks: Hampus Lindholm

The Anaheim Ducks selected Hampus Lindholm with the No.6 pick in the draft.

Minnesota Wild: Mathew Dumba

The Minnesota Wild have selected Mathew Dumba.

Pittsburgh Penguins from Carolina Hurricanes: Derrick Pouliot

The Pittsburgh Penguins have traded a package highlighted by Jordan Staal for Carolina's No.8 overall pick.

With that pick, the Penguins have selected Derrick Pouliot.

Winnipeg Jets: Jacob Trouba

The Winnipeg Jets have selected defenseman Jacob Trouba from the US development league.

Tampa Bay Lightning: Slater Koekkoek

The Tampa Bay Lightning have selected Slater Koekkoek with their No.10 overall pick.

Washington Capitals: Filip Forsberg

The Washington Capitals have selected Filip Forsberg. Forsberg was picked to go as high as No.2 overall by mock drafts but ends up going at No. 11 overall.

The Buffalo Sabres will pick next.

The Buffalo Sabres have selected Mikhail Grigorenko from the Quebec Remparts of the QMJHL.

Dallas Stars: Radek Faksa

The Dallas Stars have selected Radek Faksa

Buffalo Sabres from Calgary Flames: Zemgus Girgensons

The Buffalo Sabres traded their No. 21 pick in the first round and their 42nd pick in the second round for the No. 14 pick and have selected Zemgus Girgensons.

Ottawa Senators: Cocy Ceci

The Ottawa Senators have selected Cody Ceci from the Ottawa 67's.

Washington Capitals: Tom Wilson

The Washington Capitals have selected Tom Wilson with the No.16 pick overall.

San Jose Sharks: Tomas Hertl

With the No.17 pick in the 2012 NHL draft, the San Jose Sharks have selected Tomas Hertl from Slavia.

Chicago Blackhawks: Teuvo Teravainen

The Chicago Blackhawks have selected Teuvo Teravainen with their first round pick at No.18 overall. Teravainen really fell down the board and was expected to go a lot earlier in the draft.

Tampa Bay Lightning: Andrei Vasilevski

The Lightning have selected the first goalie in this draft. Andrei Vasilevski has been selected 19th overall.

Philadelphia Flyers: Scott Laughton

The Flyers have selected Scott Laughton from the Oshawa Generals with the No.20 pick in the NHL draft.

Calgary Flames: Mark Jankowski

With the No.21 overall pick, the Calgary Flames have selected Mark Jankowski.
