Give It a Rest: What Has the Sports World Come To?

Honestly, all we here is this person did this and that person did that. It is absolutely ridiculous. I can't even stand to read about A-Rod, Tejada, or McGwire anymore.  It is in the news today because the media wants to bring anyone they can down just to get a response. 

Tell me that while your home team is absolutely dominating the NBA, MLB, or NFL they don't even get into the top-five headlines because of a story about some one juicing, a DUI, or bad mouthing a former teammate. It's frustrating to know that when Kobe goes for 61, the headlines are about A-Rod juicing. 

WHO CARES!!! 

I know kids look to these guys as role models which i did growing up to Ken Griffey Jr. (lucked out and picked the right guy), but is it really what the sports world should succumb to for headlines. 

In the NFL it's TO did this or Pacman did that.  It is all negative news with no outcome. It's opinion about what should happen to the players involved. You don't ever read about what players are doing for the communities. 

The sports reporting has gotten out of control. I don't exclude players on my fantasy teams because they don't like a former player let alone care. You have to do a three page search anymore to see results from last nights games. 

In a time when the country is hurting economically we don't make it any better by reporting the negative outcomes of players. I know it is everyone's right to report what they want, but it is so boring. 

Tell me it is any different than reading about job cuts in the daily paper. It is depressing. 

The NBA is finally flourishing with a better image after circa Darius Miles and players of that nature.  he NFL outside of reporting on TO and Pacman is in the same boat. 

MLB would be fine if we could let this steroid crap go. They can't use anymore so forget about it. We can't dictate whether or not they get into the Hall anyways so forget about. Let's get back to good old fashions sports what they mean to us. 

Reporters wouldn't be reporting if they didn't love sports.
