SEC Football Top 150 Players: No. 67, Andrew Wilson, Missouri LB
The SEC Blog will be counting down the top 150 players in the SEC every day, concluding on Aug. 30, at the start of the college football regular season.
67. Andrew Wilson, No. 48, Missouri Linebacker
2011 stats: 98 tackles, 9.5 tackles for loss, 0.5 sacks
Strengths
Wilson emerged as a force for the Tigers defense in 2011, racking up a team-high 98 tackles en route to earning second-team All-Big 12 honors. He's a big-time hitter who finds the football and made a big impact for the Tigers at middle linebacker last season in place of the injured Will Ebner.
Weaknesses
Wilson will have an adjustment to make, as he will slide back to the outside linebacker spot to make room for a healthy Ebner. That transition will be further complicated by the change in offensive styles that he will see as a player in the SEC rather than the pass-happy Big 12.
2012 Prediction
Wilson has that talent to be a star in the SEC, as do Ebner and Zaviar Gooden in the Missouri linebacker corps. The 6'3", 235-pound junior has the body type and skills required to be a star as an outside linebacker in the 4-3.
