London Summer Olympics: Sporty Spice Steamed over Spice Girls Snub

So tell me what you want, what you really, really want. 

One Spice Girl would love to have the band's songs included in the opening ceremony? No dice, Sporty Spice. 

Kate Bennert of Deadspin reports the latest from the upcoming Summer Olympics in London and the music that will feature in the opening ceremony. 

The report comes from The Mirror that states 86 tracks were released that will play us into the summer games, and the Spice Girls are among the biggest omissions. 

The one they call Sporty is up in arms over the exclusion. Now, Melanie Chisholm wants organizers to rethink the massive error, via The Mirror.

I don’t know exactly where this list has come from, and obviously sometimes things come out that aren’t quite right.

But I’d be really upset if the Spice Girls weren’t included in the Olympics, whether it be the opening or closing ceremonies or any other playlists, because I think we absolutely represented Britain in the '90s.

We literally flew the flag—and Geri even wore it—around the globe.

If you want to take a look at the playlist, The Telegraph not only has the full 86 songs listed, it has a set of videos that play each song. 

It's the perfect way to waste several minutes while you daydream of the Olympics finally arriving. 

As for the Spice Girls and their omission, it could very well be remedied, because as Deadspin notes, the playlist has not yet been confirmed. 

Danny Boyle, the ball is now in your court to fix this mess. We need some Girl Power up in that stadium on Day 1. 

If only for the reason that Oasis is included twice. Really, you will let those insufferable songs in but not "If You Wanna Be My Lover"?

What about the melodic stylings of "Say You'll Be There"? 

Okay, I see your point, Boyle. It's pretty hard to find a song that isn't drenched in ridiculous, but that hardly means the Summer Olympics should be Spice Girls free.
