WWE Rumors: John Cena, Chris Jericho, Vince McMahon and Friday's Top WWE Buzz
If there was ever a time for WWE to take some chances with its storytelling and pushes, this would be it.
It is beginning to sound like a broken record, but WWE has a golden opportunity right now to start building new talent. With the business as cold as it has been in a long time, creating new stars should be top priority.
In fact, with older stars like Rey Mysterio and Chris Jericho serving suspensions, and likely leaving sooner rather than later, WWE could take everything it has done and turn it on itself. It might not make for great ratings or big pay-per-view buy rates, but nothing that is happening now is doing that.

Summer is usually when WWE starts to take some chances, so hopefully we see something come along soon to jumpstart the product.
Here are the Friday news, rumors and notes that will help you jumpstart your weekend.
JOHN CENA HITS A MILESTONE
We like to have fun at John Cena's expense because his character is so easy to mock, but he has been a great ambassador for WWE. With his personal life falling apart, we can take time away from the madness to praise Cena for his 300th Make-A-Wish granted.
Question on Everybody's Mind: How much does this affect how WWE uses him?
Our Take: I think this is one of the most underrated aspects of why WWE can't turn Cena, if you were wondering why he is still the same character after seven years. The public relations WWE gets from this is so important to what the company wants to build right now.
Hype Meter: 5 out of 5 Praises For Cena
Another thing to consider, especially right now, is how important this is for Cena. Even though he filed for the divorce from his wife, perhaps he needs to find an escape to get away from all the rumors and madness surrounding that situation.

CHRIS JERICHO CLEARLY HATES WRESTLING
With Jericho making his return to WWE next week, he should be geared up to make the world end, like he promised before returning in January. Yet here he is, making vicious claims in magazines that music is his No. 1 priority right now because he has done all he can in wrestling.
Question on Everybody's Mind: Why does Jericho hate wrestling?
Our Take: I think it is his reaction to being forced to wear that epic jacket and smile on television for weeks before being able to say a word. He is trying to get back at Vince McMahon for making him look visible from outer space.
Hype Meter: 4 out of 5 Wrestling Rock Bands
Jericho's return is going to be interesting, just to see how long he is around and what WWE does with him. He was headed for a feud with Randy Orton, but obviously that won't be able to happen. How does WWE utilize him now?

VINCE MCMAHON'S BULLYING COMING BACK TO BITE WWE
With WWE constantly making a point of being associated with the "Be A STAR" anti-bullying campaign, Vince McMahon's ego and sick sense of humor could come back to bite the company. Reportedly, there is concern over his mocking of Jim Ross, and The Creative Coalition could be seen as "hypocritical" for doing business with WWE.
Question on Everybody's Mind: Is Vince actually bad for WWE business?
Our Take: We all have to give credit to McMahon for turning WWE into what it is today, for better or worse. I think he is doing more harm than good for everyone in the company right now, both on television and with decisions he makes creatively.
Hype Meter: 3 out of 5 McMahon imitations
Maybe it's because McMahon is such a hypocrite that I enjoy seeing him get put in his place. He would never admit that he has failed, or done wrong to anyone, but we have all heard the horror stories involved with him and his talent.

ALBERTO DEL RIO A VICTIM OF WWE'S NEW CONCUSSION POLICY
Among the more interesting stories of the week was the return of Alberto Del Rio after just one week away due to a concussion. He had to give up his spot in the World Championship Match against Sheamus because he wasn't cleared before the Raw go-home show two weeks ago, so WWE decided to play it safe and go with Dolph Ziggler.
Question on Everybody's Mind: Is WWE actually making progress?
Our Take: Despite Del Rio's possible frustration at losing his spot, this was a good move for WWE. The company has taken a hard stance on head injuries in recent years, and this is the latest sign that it is for real.
Hype Meter: 5 out of 5 Fancy Cars
Even if it is a forced progress, it is progress nonetheless. WWE used to be so set against doing anything that would impede its business, often putting talent at risk. We don't give WWE enough credit for making changes to better protect its talent, but it should not go unnoticed.
