US Olympic Trials Diving Schedule 2012: Dates, Events, Live Stream and TV Info

Brian MaziqueJun 6, 2018

Troy Dumais is on a mission heading into the 2012 Summer Olympics. The 32-year-old is on the cusp of becoming just the second American man to make four Olympic diving teams. If you're wondering who the only one is up to now, you guessed it: it's Greg Louganis.

Dumais is more than halfway to that short-term goal, as he has already reached the finals of the US Olympic Trials. If he's successful, as I expect he will be, his long-term goal has to be to capture some hardware in London.

He has had a long and successful diving career, but Olympic gold has eluded him to this point. It would be one of the best American Olympic stories of the year if Dumais shines in London.

Capturing his first medal would be big—but if it were of the gold variety, it would obviously be even bigger. Dumais will take the next steps towards his goals on Friday in the finals.

That is one of the stories playing out in Team USA diving, but there is also a compelling story on the women's side.

Two-time NCAA champion Kelci Bryant has moved closer to another Olympic team berth. She missed out on a medal in 2008, but she has a realistic chance to improve this time around. Bryant fell short of the Bronze medal in in Beijing by just two points.

It was a tough loss for Bryant, she is quoted by KETKNBC: “It was a little heart breaking being tied for third going into the final dive and end up missing a medal by two points.”

Through determination and a solid work ethic Bryant is in prime position to return to the Olympics.

Bryant's event is the 3-meter synchro with her partner Abby Johnston. The duo has lead all five rounds of the semifinals, and they are clearly the team to beat heading into the finals.

Here is how you can follow the progress of Dumais, Johnston and Bryant. This is the TV schedule and live stream information for the US Olympic Trials:
