Viral Video of the Day: Wayne Rooney's Time Is Now in New Nike Ad

The waiting is over. It's time to see what Wayne Rooney can do.

Rooney, the 26-year-old star striker for England and Manchester United, is set for a return to the Three Lions lineup on Tuesday for a make-or-break match against Ukraine.

England must at least draw to reach the quarterfinals of Euro 2012, and their chances of advancement are looking better now that Rooney has returned from his two-match suspension.

Rooney, for his part, has said there's "no reason" England can't win Euro 2012. His first chance to prove it comes against Ukraine (via the Daily Telegraph).

In other words, it's his time. Coincidentally enough, the marketing folks at Nike have released a video advertisement campaign saying just that.

The ad, which is B/R's Viral Video of the Day, appears above.

As you're watching, you might become concerned that the camera is getting a wee bit too close to England's freckly, fleshy superstar.

Don't fret, though (spoiler alert!). The camera stops just in time for Rooney to flash open his eyes as the accompanying audio track cuts off dramatically.

After a couple of moments of angry staring, Rooney informs us via on-screen graphic that his time is now. Which is good, considering England need a result against Ukraine.

So, readers, what do you think? Is it really Rooney's time? Will he come through with the winning goal that sends England to the quarterfinals (possibly as group winners)?

Or is Ukraine manager Oleh Blokhin right in claiming (per The Independent) that all the pressure is on the Three Lions?
