Wes Welker Reportedly in Altercation with Security in Aspen
New England Patriots wide receiver Wes Welker must have felt right at home in Aspen, Colo., as he was tackled by security on his way into a party, according to a report in the New York Post.
Sources told the Post that Welker and his entourage tried to rush into the Patron-sponsored event without checking in but were ultimately thrown out after a tussle with security guards.
"“Security tried to subdue the group” when a brawl almost broke out, a source told (the New York Post). “Security then physically restrained [Welker] and his group to break everything up.”
We’re told Welker and his rowdy crew weren’t arrested, but cops threatened to do so. “Security calmed them down and kicked them off the property,” a source told (the New York Post).

The report also states that Welker is in Aspen preparing for his upcoming wedding, and the night out was meant to be an unofficial bachelor party of sorts.
On a positive note, at least Welker and his crew calmed down before security had to escort them to jail. That would put a bit of a stain on the wedding party, not to mention Welker's status with the Patriots.
With Welker apparently able to avoid arrest, the focus can now shift to his wedding and the upcoming 2012 season. This is a big year for the Patriots receiver, as he is looking to secure a long-term contract after the team used the franchise tag on him this offseason.
