WWE Rumors: Steve Austin, Randy Orton, Chris Jericho and Tuesday's Top WWE Buzz
The follow-up to an uneven pay-per-view is always tricky for WWE. At times, the company will just move right past the show, which in this case was No Way Out, and focus completely on the next pay-per-view.
Last night, WWE felt that the right move was to put an end to the John Laurinaitis era by having John Cena pick him apart. It was rational enough logic, but I just look at the fact that, yet again, Laurinaitis and David Otunga were in a main event on Raw.
Meanwhile, CM Punk, Sheamus and Daniel Bryan are put in the spot right after the opening segment. It's no wonder fans only view these guys at a certain level.

STEVE AUSTIN IN LARGE GROUP CONSIDERED FOR GM GIG
While WWE is still sorting out its plan to find a permanent replacement for the general manager position, reportedly the company is going to use former general managers to fill the void. Among the list of names is Steve Austin, Bret Hart, Mike Adamle and the Anonymous General Manager.
Question on Everybody's Mind: Does WWE have a long-term plan?
Our Take: No. That's why WWE has to bring back old general managers. I am on record as saying that WWE should just get rid of the entire concept, as it has far outlived its usefulness. If there is no set plan that will actually work, just forget the whole thing.
Hype Meter: 5 out of 5 Rattlesnakes
Despite my dislike of the GM concept, if it gets Austin back on television for one week, that can be entertaining. It is just when you hear names like Adamle or the Anonymous GM that make you want to pull your hair out.

WWE ISN'T MAD AT RANDY ORTON ANYMORE, MAYBE
When Orton first got suspended by WWE, his name was basically stricken from the record, as he wasn't being advertised for any shows after his suspension was over. That's not the case anymore, as WWE is using him like the second coming of Hulk Hogan.
Question on Everybody's Mind: What happened to make WWE change its tune?
Our Take: Vince McMahon probably looked at the roster and said, in so many terms, "We need all the help we can get right now." He changes his mind all the time, so this is not exactly something new for him.
Hype Meter: 4 out of 5 Vipers
Just looking at the SmackDown roster right now, it is a toxic wasteland of nothing. There is Sheamus and Daniel Bryan at the top, with no one else who is going to generate any kind of buzz or sell tickets. Orton's presence is needed now more than ever.

WWE FLAGGING DOWN CHRIS JERICHO
Unlike Orton, Jericho was suspended strictly for public relations purposes. WWE was never mad at Jericho, at least publicly, so it comes as no real surprise that the company is looking forward to welcoming back the Ayatollah of Rock and Rollah next week.
Question on Everybody's Mind: Who will Jericho be working with?
Our Take: Hard to say. He was due to work with Orton before getting suspended, but that isn't happening now. I suppose Jericho could be thrown back into the WWE title mix, though that would just feel like a placeholder thing for Punk. Maybe he will work with Sheamus.
Hype Meter: 4 out of 5 Lite-Brite Jackets
Regardless of what Jericho will be doing, it will just be nice to have him back. Say what you want about him not winning matches, but he was still really good on the microphone and knew how to sell a feud.

KEVIN NASH PUNKS THE INTERNET
Kevin Nash loves a good joke (just look at his career) but he got the Twitterverse good on Monday, saying that he was going to be running Raw. Sure enough, Raw starts with no Nash in sight. So sad.
"Running Raw tomorrow night, going to be epic
— Kevin Nash (@RealKevinNash) June 18, 2012"
Question on Everybody's Mind: Will WWE use Nash for the temporary GM gimmick?
Our Take: Lord, let's hope not. It was obvious during his last "run" in WWE that Nash is so out of touch with the product today and he can't even talk his way out of it. More than anything, it was just sad to watch.
Hype Meter: 0 out of 5 Big Boots
Nash is better off where he is at right now: watching as a fan and doing movie roles. That is the only kind of acting he needs to be doing at his age. As much as Triple H might love Nash, he has to realize that something isn't working when Nash is on WWE television.
