WWE: Hits and Misses

Hello all, this is my first time in writing on here (so take it easy on me lol). Let's start off with a quick introduction, my name is Brendan O'Neill, I'm 24 years old and hail from Belfast Northern Ireland. What I'd like to write about is what is currently happening in WWE.

The biggest plus for WWE at the moment is the emergence of Randy Orton. This man certainly does tick all the right boxes, mic skills, wrestling ability and more importantly, he's not got the perfect storyline. Orton (with the help of the McMahon storyline) is the main reason to tune in every Monday night. Though he's not the only one.

HBK and Chris Jericho are other reasons to keep people coming back for more. Ever since they're feud last year, these two wrestlers have been amazing to watch. Jericho is second to none when it comes to cutting promos (his rant about the Hall of Famers, is one I couldn't agree more with). HBK on the other hand goes straight from his Jericho feud, into another with JBL, which I didn't like to begin with but must admit I am currently enjoying.

On Smackdown, there is no doubt the Jeff / Matt is the focal point of the show, which is definitely should be. It's about time these two where given serious time to show their skills on a main event platform.

Now I'm not gonna sing the WWE's praises all the way through this, there are a few 'misses'. The biggest one is the continual 'push' for anyone over 6ft and 250llbs. People such as Kozlov etc. Kozlov has the mic skills of Eugene, and the wrestling ability of Hulk Hogan (its OK, we all know Hogan can't wrestle). The Great Khali is another one that's falls into this category, he's only slightly better than Kozlov.

And since I checked out the ECW results for yesterday (11th Feb 09) I believe WWE / Vince missed big time with Christian. Christian being the Hardy attacker made more sense, but since WWE seems to go against rumors, they changed their plans at the last minute, and this severely hinders Christian.

I just hope he isn't stuck in ECW for too long. Maybe interference at a Wrestlemania title match is on the cards.
