College Football Recruiting 2013: Stanford Cardinal Lands Talented 4-Star WR
Stanford lost Chris Owusu to graduation this year, but they'll only have to wait one year to put the Owusu name on the back of a jersey again.
Francis Owusu, Chris' younger brother, has officially committed to play on The Farm, according to ESPN's Erik McKinney.
The news is far from surprising, as most everyone considered the Cardinal to be the favorite for the 6'3", 195-pounder's services.
The unanimous 4-star receiver recorded 35 receptions for 705 yards and eight touchdowns as a junior in 2011 at Oaks Christian in Westlake, California. He had no shortage of suitors either, as his combination of size, potential and brains attracted a number of prestigious programs.
Arizona, Duke, Houston, Notre Dame, Oregon State, Tennessee, UCLA, Vanderbilt and Wisconsin were among some of the other schools to offer him a scholarship.
Owusu joins a small Cardinal class that is extremely heavy on talent. Although he's only the fourth commit of 2013, he's the fourth 4-star to commit.
Committed quarterback Ryan Burns has to be excited that Owusu is joining, and coach David Shaw has to be excited as well.
The Cardinal have picked up exactly where they left off last year and look to be working towards yet another potential top-12 recruiting class.
It's hardly a surprise that Owusu is heading to Palo Alto, but it's a great get nonetheless.
