Royal Ascot 2012: Frankel and Horses That Will Steal the Show

Jun 7, 2018

For those unaware about what the 2012 Royal Ascot is, it’s quite simply the much older, English version of the Kentucky Derby. With as much drama about the races attendees as there is about the best racing in the world, this is one of the premier events in England.

The Royal Family attends this five-day long series of races, but the main focus has always remained on the horses.

With a field of the best steeds in the world, there is bound to be enough amazing racing during the course of the week to keep any and every fan of the sport satisfied. Don’t miss it!

Frankel

In what has become rarefied air in the horse racing world, Frankel started his career with ten straight wins. With the sport on its feet for the amazing horse, Frankel will have to beat his toughest test to date in the Queen Anne Stakes.

With the Stakes being held on the mile course, Frankel will use his experience and seven wins on similar tracks to steal the show. For those who didn’t know Frankel’s name before, he is a bona fide star.

Black Caviar

Six-year-old mare Black Caviar comes into this Diamond Jubilee Stakes race as another undefeated speedster with enough in the tank to pass any horse down the backstretch.

As great as Frankel’s ten straight wins are, this mare has 20 straight wins in her career and looks to add the prestigious Diamond Jubilee to that list.

So You Think

While So You Think isn’t undefeated, he has won 12 of 19 career races and has to be deemed a threat to win Wednesday’s Stakes. With a perfect run and a jockey that can maneuver through traffic, this horse has the talent to win this race.

The best part of the Prince of Wales's Stakes will be So You Think's experience on 1.25 mile tracks. With all of his wins coming in longer races, there is no question about the horse's ability to close in that distance.
