WWE No Way out Results: CM Punk Beats Daniel Bryan and Kane and What It Means

Since when does the WWE try to take “Beauty and the Beast” and make it part of their programming? I am not sure what to make of the fact that CM Punk won the WWE Title Sunday night with the “help” of A.J. Lee.

But in the end, it would appear that Lee’s sudden affection for Kane (and his in return) is part of a bigger plan, maybe one that both Lee and Punk are in on as he pinned Kane after he knocked Lee off the apron.

Oh, the tangled web that wrestlers and hot chicks (especially crazy ones) play on a daily basis.

But remember, Lee said she saw the monster had a heart, and she showed how that made her feel.

Now that we have gotten the soap opera part of the column out of the way, let’s try and focus on what Punk’s win means to the WWE.

First, the match was better than I expected, but I also expected Daniel Bryan to be in the mix at the end for the WWE Title, and that's upsetting. It appeared that Bryan outperformed his opponents, and I was sure in the end he and Lee would be the ones hoisting the WWE Title.

My bad.

But what this does is make the summer months more interesting, adds plot lines to stories that needed legs and has allowed all of us to wonder if Punk and Lee will eventually join forces.

A sheepish grin from a cute girl does that to some people.

It also means that Kane, who has not held the WWE Title in 14 years, may be the focus of a title shot with Punk, that the veteran will be the main event in another PPV and that Daniel Bryan will be looking to make amends for the loss.

Bryan, in my opinion, is the best competitor in the WWE right now and should continue to feud with his long-time rival, Punk.

What this also does is allow those wrestlers (Christian/Cody Rhodes, Sheamus/Dolph Ziggler) to concentrate on the feuds they are in and build on them.

Ziggler and Rhodes each deserve some title recognition.

Ziggler himself was one of the top stars of the night. That needs to continue.

I also like the idea that there is some more mystery to Lee’s character. And that also begs the question if we will ever see her in the ring again, or has creative decided she is more of a sidepiece than anything else?

All these questions and no real answers. And we all must wait to see what happens tomorrow night.

Will there be more of this feud, or will the creative teams drop the ball and give up on something good?
