With The 31st Pick of The NFL Draft, The Arizona Cardinals Select...Nate Davis?

ryan johFeb 10, 2009

Who better for the Cardinals to draft than the prototype of a young and primed version of Kurt Warner?

What about Matt Leinart one may ask? Cut your losses!

Let him chug beer bongs with Nick Lachey and take advantage of local Arizona State college girls. Matt Leinart was the product of a good system, anyway.

If Leinart was really worthy of a first-round pick, then Norm Chow would have had the Titans select him instead of Vince Young. Chow passed on Leinart, and no one thought twice about it.

The Cardinals will never be a successful team with Matt Leinart at the reigns. The sooner they find a way to trade him the better.

When watching Nate Davis perform, it's easy to see he has all the intangibles he would need to succeed in the NFL. Davis has the strongest arm in college this year and will most likely get “Flacco” hype after the combine.

The 21-year-old Davis has a physical frame at 6’2" 218 pounds. Warner is also exactly 6’2" 218, and Davis’ game is so similar to Warner’s, it’s scary.

Both came from small programs, Warner from Northern Iowa and Davis from Ball State.

Both have excellent downfield vision, and are not afraid to take a hit.

Both have an uncanny poise about them while on the field.

Both even wear the trademark glove on their throwing hand.

Regardless, in any situation you could put a team in, you will not see a more relaxed quarterback than Kurt Warner. Nate Davis shares the same attribute and would be the ultimate predecessor to Kurt Warner.

The Cardinals will sign Warner to one more year.

If they draft Nate Davis, he could have one full year to work under one of the best ever. They could trade Matt Leinart now, before he absolutely blows it the following year, and actually get some value for him.

If they keep Matt Leinart, the Cardinals' future might as well have David Carr or Joey Harrington at the reigns. However, if the Cardinals take my advice, Davis will make all their dreams come true.

Nate Davis is the next big thing coming to the NFL that no one is talking about.

He will be a household name sooner than people expect.

For the record, I did not go to Ball State.
