Which NFL Players Will Stuff Stat Sheets for Losing Teams in 2012?

Eli NachmanyJun 3, 2018

A number of teams in the NFL have talented players, but can't seem to translate their on-field talent to wins in the standings.

It seems as though having one or two elite athletes doesn't always guarantee victories in the NFL, but in this article, we take a chance to honor those "stat-sheet stuffers."

While Cam Newton and Adrian Peterson were examples last year, look for some new names to emerge as we go forward in the 2012 season.

1. Robert Griffin III, Washington Redskins

It's very reasonable to predict that the Redskins won't have a winning record this year, despite Griffin's probable prowess in the statistical column.

Look for this quarterback to rush for a high total and pass for even more; he's mastered the art of producing big numbers, no matter what his team's record is.

The Redskins will be on the winning track in a few years, but 2012 will be more about Griffin's stats than the team's record.

2. Jamaal Charles, Kansas City Chiefs

I'm buying low on the Chiefs for the 2012 season, but Jamaal Charles looks to return and be stronger than ever.

After posting an abnormally high yards-per-carry rate in 2010, Charles should be a top-flight back for a losing team in Kansas City in 2012.

I don't think that the Chiefs have the right pieces to make a playoff push, but their running back should be a huge factor in the run and pass game.

3. Larry Fitzgerald, Arizona Cardinals

No real surprise here, but it seems as though Larry Fitzgerald and the Cardinals will have a tough time getting it all together in the coming season.

Look for this wideout to post his usually-high numbers, but not get any retribution in the win column for it.

Arizona still doesn't have a true answer at quarterback, but either Kevin Kolb or John Skelton will have the opportunity to throw to a top-tier receiver in Fitzgerald.

4. Jared Cook Jr., Tennessee Titans

Cook Jr. is not the most recognizable name—yet.

Last season, this tight end had a few solid games and showed immense breakout potential for the 2012 campaign.

Look for this pass catcher to post a lot of yards and touchdowns this season, but not enjoy success in the standings with his lowly Titans.
