Pacquiao vs. Bradley: Why Bradley Will Dominate Rematch

Sebastian MaldonadoJun 7, 2018

Manny Pacquiao and Timothy Bradley fought a brutal battle for the WBO Welterweight Title, but neither man could attain a knockout victory.  The decision was left up to the judges who awarded Bradley the victory by split decision.

Controversy arose as many stated and believed that Pacquiao won the fight.  The talk is rematch—rematch between the two!

Pacquiao was shocked at the decision, claiming directly after the fight that Bradley never hurt him.  He claimed Bradley’s punches hit his arms and did not do damage.

Whatever Bradley’s performance did was enough in the judges’ eyes.  A rematch now seems inevitable between the two.

If this rematch happens, Bradley will go out with everything to prove.

He wants to show the world that his victory wasn’t a fluke.  He should want to finish Manny Pacquiao off before the judges make a decision.

Bradley needs to convince the world his victory wasn’t a mistake.  He needs to prove he is deserving of becoming the new WBO Welterweight Champion.

Bradley’s fighting style was already a bad matchup for Pacquiao.  He pushes the tempo as opposed to Pacquiao using his speed more than power.

Bradley needs to utilize his style more effectively than his first fight.  He has the knockout power to make Pacquiao victim 17.

If he loses, the general public is right about him.  Bradley will be remembered as a fluke, a man who got lucky.  He would be this generation’s version of Buster Douglas.

Pacquiao would avenge his loss and then put his career back on track.  Talks of the Pacquiao/Mayweather dream fight could even be reignited.

Bradley needs to win not just for himself, but for boxing.  He needs to dominate Pacquiao.

If he does, he will usher in a new era of boxing.  Bradley will generate new fights and main event min more marquee bouts.  All he needs to do is dominate in his second bout against Manny Pacquiao.

Easier said than done.

Then again, Bradley’s fighting style can make the impossible happen, again.
