Toronto Raptors: Dead and Floating Away

The Toronto Raptors are officially done. 5.5 games put of a playoff spot and the massacre that is the Raptors could not have been predicted by any basketball analysts from Kandahar to Vancouver.

Jay Triano has not only failed but has failed miserably in his tenure as Raptors head coach. It's ugly to watch as the games can be summed up as nasty, brutish and short for everyone who follows basketball.

1. Jermaine O'neal has said all the right things, but at this point the only thing he can say is bye.

While, I think that he can return to Indiana form, however, the intensity he once played with is lacking. Jermaine is still a dominant player after all the knee problems but the aspects of leadership and intensity are not there.

Maybe it is a sign of things to come, maybe he feels that he will npt be a Toronto Raptor for much longer, and the desire to help is not there. All in all, the rough season is not Jermaine's fault. I hope he can regain the intensity he once played with somewhere.

2. Jamrio Moon. You could not ship this man out of Toronto any faster in my eyes. Mistake after mistake, ugly jumper after even uglier jumper is nasty to watch. This man needs to realize he is not Tracy Mcgrady and is option No. 5 while he is on the floor.

3. The whole Chris Bosh issue is unfair for any Raptor fan to endure. It looks like a record 5th franchise-type player is going to walk out of Toronto. I hope he does not leave Toronto, he is the face of Canadian sports, but the north is a hockey market. If that is the case, and he does want to leave, I would hold onto Bosh as long as I possibly could.

Positives

1. Well hey, Andrea finally got some minutes and he is now in that top tier of centers in the NBA. Only three or four are considerably better and their names are Bynum, Howard, Jefferson, and Yao. He is making his way into that upper class of players, if he was traded it would be Brian Colangelo's worst front office move ever
