WWE No Way out 2012: Is Kane a Threat to Win the WWE Championship?

This Sunday at No Way Out, CM Punk will defend the WWE Championship against Daniel Bryan and Kane. The match is a Triple Threat, but can Kane really be considered a threat to Punk and the WWE Championship?

Kane is, by far, the biggest and strongest competitor in this match. Kane's size will be quite a feat for Punk and Bryan to overcome. Also, in the past few weeks, Kane has secured a pinfall victory over Punk and has roughed up both the champion and Daniel Bryan.

Kane is certainly capable of defeating either of his opponents.

Kane's biggest weakness going into this match is AJ. In the last two weeks, AJ has proven that she is able to throw the Big Red Monster off of his game. Any distraction caused by AJ could potentially cost Kane the match and, in turn, the WWE Championship.

Also, Kane winning the WWE Championship simply wouldn't make much sense. His involvement in the feud between Bryan and Punk is logical. That said, the feud is between Bryan and Punk and Kane is merely a third party. In my opinion, Kane winning wouldn't make sense in the grand scheme of things.

All things considered, Kane should still not be counted out altogether. His last world championship reign came out of nowhere. He wasn't exactly among the favorites to win the SmackDown Money in the Match at Money in the Bank 2010 either. And it definitely wasn't expected that he would cash-in and win the World Heavyweight Championship that night and go on to reign for multiple months.

Kane winning the WWE Championship on Sunday doesn't seem to be among the most logical moves. However, it is still very much a possibility. As long as Kane is a participant in this match, he is a threat to CM Punk's WWE Championship.
