Lots of People Commenting On A-Rod
When I first heard that Alex Rodriguez tested positive for steroids in 2003 my first thought was, what’s next? Superman tested positive too?
Since that time everyone has chimed in with their concerns and feelings. There is a lot of it out there too, so I will try to break down some important stories for you below.
Derek Jeter thought that everyone should give A-rod the benefit of the doubt until hearing him out. That was before he came forward and admitted to it.

Draft Lottery Winners and Losers
Joel Sherman of the Post thinks that an apology could be the only thing that saves A-rod’s reputation. He may be right, denial never worked for Roger Clemens or Barry Bonds.
River Ave Blues has a poll up on whether people feel like he’s still a HOF candidate. As this is being written 83 percent of their readers feel like he’ll still make it.
Sam Borden points out that Arod had two days notice before the report was published. He kept the Yankees in the dark during this time.
Jon Heyman of SI wonders what A-rod’s reaction to the union will be. The tests should have been destroyed and it appears their fault that this leaked.
Reggie Jackson and Curt Schilling are wondering where the other 103 names of other players who tested positive in 2003 have gone.
All of the negative tests from 2003 may get retested. Supposedly Barry Bonds never tested positive on first test, but upon more testing he failed a few tests.
Jose Canseco feels vindicated by this whole thing. He appears ready to write another book. He seems to be one of the few willing to tell the truth about PED’s.
Tyler Kepner points out that there was a time that A-rod was a different person. A guy who seemed to be genuine. It would be nice to have that back wouldn’t it?
The Daily News wonders who the people were who ratted Arod out. We’ll probably never know for sure. The big question for them is who are the other 103 people and why not come out with those names sooner?
Arod’s high school coach said he just doesn’t see A-rod on steroids. Well according to Arod’s admission of guilt earlier in the day, maybe he should get his eyes checked.
I’m sure I missed some big links. Maybe I’ll do another roundup like this. A big question I have about all this is how is this going to effect the MLB Players union. They could lose quite a bit of power over this. Especially if the players lose faith in them.
