The Marquette Golden Eagles (No. 10 AP, No. 12 Coaches, 9-1, 20-3) are no longer perfect in Big East play—South Florida put an unlikely stop to that.

Marquette had problems from all over the floor, but their two biggest problems were from beyond the arc and from the charity stripe.

The Golden Eagles went 4-for-24 (.167) from beyond the arc, but are shooting .355 on the season. They also went 10-for-23 from the free-throw line (while they are shooting over 70 percent on the year). Considering they only lost by one point, the 13 missed free throws seems like a pretty big deal.

The Villanova Wildcats (No. 13 AP, No. 13 Coaches, 7-3, 19-4) have won five straight, most recently defeating Syracuse by 17. This was their second victory over a Top 25 team this season—an important stat because they started out going 0-4 against the Top 25.

Both teams feature guard-heavy lineups—a rarity these days in the Big East. But the key to Villanova's recent success has been their big man, Dante Cunningham. Against Syracuse, for example, he scored a game-high 31 points and grabbed his eighth double-double on the season with 10 rebounds.

The Wildcats and Golden Eagles faced off earlier this season, and Marquette walked away with the 79-72 victory. However, Villanova has gained a lot of confidence since the Jan. 1 game and their current run shows how much confidence they have gained.

The Golden Eagles will try to bounce back from their first conference loss and improve their statistics across the board from its last game.

Regardless of who walks away with the win, this is going to be a great game between two top 15 teams.
