Manchester United Transfer News: Karim Benzema Rejects Red Devils Offer

Karim Benzema will not be making a move to Old Trafford this summer with the French international striker set to continue on with La Liga champions Real Madrid next season.

According to The Metro, the 24-year-old has denied a move to the Red Devils—stating that the rumors about a possible move to Manchester United circulate every transfer window, and they are no more true than they were last time.

After cementing a place in Jose Mourinho's starting side through his excellent attacking play this season, Benzema commented:

"The rumours about my future are common, every summer it's the same that I will be going to this club and that club. But I am very happy at Real Madrid and the thought about leaving has never crossed my mind.

I know Manchester United have tried to sign me for the past three or four seasons. When I was at Lyon they and a number of other English clubs wanted me but could not agree terms with Lyon.

Besides, I wanted to go to Spain and I can honestly say I have never regretted that decision. I'm still young and I have a contract at Madrid until 2015. I still want to achieve things at the club. I have had a taste of success after winning the Spanish title but I want more..."

The French international striker netted 32 goals in 40 appearances for Los Blancos during their most recent season—finishing second behind Cristiano Ronaldo for the highest average match rating during La Liga.

He has without doubt become one of the top strikers in the world and is one of the most important pieces for Real Madrid's chances at repeat success. Frankly, there's no way in the world the club will let him go and as long as Benzema still wants to play in the Spanish league, he will remain there.

Benzema is under contract until 2015 at Real Madrid.

Despite his firm stance on not leaving the Spanish giants, Manchester City are reportedly going to offer a bid for the French striker, believing that Benzema would be interested in playing for the English Premier League champions. Commenting on such rumors, Benzema stated that he wouldn't rule out a move to the English league, but isn't thinking about moving any time soon.

"I would never say never about coming to England and, to be honest, I have no real preference in terms of team. But that is a long way in the future, not something I would even consider at the moment..."

Regardless then of what the Citizens do, Karim Benzema will not be leaving Real Madrid this summer—continuing to play on for the Spanish champions—and will not be making a move to the English Premier League.

Not for United and not for City.
