WWE No Way out 2012: Expect Fan Favorite CM Punk to Retain Title
Stop it WWE, just stop it.
They are trying to promote the No Way Out PPV Triple Threat event between CM Punk, Daniel Bryan and Kane by adding AJ into the mix, and it’s making everything rather lame.
AJ, arguably the best looking diva in WWE, is essentially up for grabs to whoever wins. When AJ batted her eyes in Kane’s direction last Monday after beating CM Punk on RAW, I began laughing uncontrollably. The lameness factor was through the roof.

When contemplating who is going to win the event, a growing group of people believe Bryan has been promoted more in order to elevate him to the next level. There is no doubt he is a terrific wrestler that can handle the spotlight but still isn’t a big enough star to hold the prestigious WWE Championship belt.
In my eyes the only active wrestlers that are worthy of the title are Punk, John Cena, Brock Lesnar and Sheamus (that’s even pushing it).
Kane has been a punching bag on PPV events for years now, and there is no doubt he’ll be the first one to fade away in this match. He doesn’t have the mic work to be a champion. He is a sound wrestler no doubt, but he is a sideshow, not the main event.
Bryan has a strong mic presence and is going to be a star within the company for years to come. Yet he still doesn’t have the resume that suggest he is worthy of the most esteemed title in the WWE.
If he can’t beat Sheamus for the World Heavyweight belt (clearly a lesser title), why is he suddenly worthy of a bigger honor?
Punk has been on top for quite some time now, and the fans love it. His popularity has never been higher, and he’s certainly not a stale character right now.
Which brings us back to AJ.
She kissed Punk on Monday Night Raw tonight while wearing his shirt. She said they both “like each other”. While it may sound like a dude soap opera moment, it suggests there is some growth there.
Then she teamed up with him in a tag-team match and made out with Kane in an attempt to distract him.
The creative team is subtly showing us they want this relationship to continue. What if she were to distract Bryan in a way like she did at WrestleMania on Sunday?
There is no doubt in my mind AJ and Punk’s relationship will be growing this summer.
With SummerSlam on the horizon and the 1,000 episode of RAW just over a month away, Punk is ready for a high-profile feud against a guy like Lesnar. Bryan simply isn’t there yet.
When the final bell rings in the big match on Sunday, expect Punk to narrowly escape defeat and continue his incredible reign as the champ with AJ by his side.
