Kansas City Chiefs: 3 Bold Predictions for the Rest of Their Offseason
The Kansas City Chiefs have accomplished many things in this 2012 NFL offseason.
Among them, they have named a new head coach and have also added many valuable pieces through free agency and the draft.
However, the current offseason is still not over yet, as there are still a few weeks left.
Here are three bold predictions for the rest of the Chiefs' offseason.
Dwayne Bowe Will Remain Unsigned Until the Middle of Training Camp
1 of 3Heading into this offseason, one of the biggest issues that was facing the Chiefs was star WR Dwayne Bowe's contract situation.
Unfortunately, Bowe and K.C. have yet to come to an agreement on a new deal to this point.
With training camp coming up next month, don't expect the former first-round pick to be signed to a new deal until at least the middle of camp.
The Chiefs can't afford to wait any longer than that, as they will need Bowe not only for his playmaking abilities, but also to learn the new offense as well.
Jonathan Baldwin Will Have a Great Camp
2 of 3K.C. wideout Jonathan Baldwin was the talk of the town in OTAs this year.
Baldwin played very well during his squad's organized team activities, even hauling in a one-handed touchdown catch with a defender all over him.
Chiefs officials hope that Baldwin can continue to play like this up in St. Joe next month and also in the regular season as well.
At this point, there is no reason to think why he can't continue to play at this kind of level considering how talented he is at the wide receiver position.
Dexter Heyman and Tysyn Hartman Will Be the Biggest Surprises of Camp
3 of 3UDFAs Dexter Heyman and Tysyn Hartman were two of the most talented rookies that the Chiefs picked up after the draft this year.
Heyman and Hartman are both defensive players, and they both excelled at the collegiate level at their respective schools.
They are also both extremely hard workers and could provide depth at inside linebacker and safety for this defense in 2012 and beyond.
With every training camp providing a surprise player or two who rises to the occasion, I am nabbing these two as being the biggest surprises of Chiefs camp this year and ultimately see them making the final 53-man roster in September.
