WWE Rumors: John Cena, Randy Orton and Monday's Top WWE News

Donald WoodJun 11, 2012

After a wild weekend in the wrestling business, Monday shines a new light on the WWE and their build to the No Way Out Pay-Per-View Sunday, June 17.

With news that Alberto del Rio may be out for the PPV and talk of John Cena wanting Randy Orton fired circulating the dirt sheets, it’s time to digest all this information and break it down.

Starting with tonight's RAW, the company will begin its all-out prep for that show, and news is coming across the wire fast. While the ratings may be down, the rumors are heating up.

Alberto del Rio Reportedly Hurt

With the possible news that No. 1 contender for the World Heavyweight championship Alberto Del Rio was concussed at last week’s SmackDown taping, many questions have been raised.

Question on Everybody's Mind: If Del Rio can’t go, who wrestles Sheamus at No Way Out?

As much as the questions about who is next for Sheamus concern the masses, the fans that actually like ADR as a performer have to be concerned by the fact that he is always hurt.

Hype Meter: 5 out of 5 battle royals

While Del Rio’s future is unclear, this will inevitably mean that the WWE will have to give us a No. 1 contender’s battle royal. With guys like Dolph Ziggler and Cody Rhodes ready for their push, this is where a star could be made.

John Cena Wants Randy Orton Fired

According to reports from former Spirit Squad member Kenny Dykstra, John Cena had a serious problem with the old Randy Orton, and this recent suspension may have been the final straw.

Question on Everybody's Mind: Does Cena hate Orton?

While you do have to take it with a grain of salt since Kenny Dykstra isn’t exactly Mr. WWE anymore, there were many wrestlers who said Orton was a jerk when he was younger. The reason so many people behind the scenes are so disappointed by this recent suspension is because they thought he had grown up.

Hype Meter: 4 out of 5 built-in storylines

WWE is all about taking real-life conflict and turning it into a legitimate storyline on television. If the heat between Cena and Orton is real and becomes a problem, expect the WWE to turn RKO heel and feud him with Cena.

Christian Cage in the IMPACT Zone

When this announcement came down, I had no idea what to think of the decision or what Christian would end up doing. In essence, Christian Cage came out Sunday night to thank the fans, hype 10 years of TNA and intro a video; that’s it.

Question on Everybody's Mind: Did this mean anything?

While this was a great live pop, there wasn’t the same talk around Christian’s appearance as there was for Ric Flair’s Hall of Fame induction. With that said, any outside publicity was welcomed and the TNA PPV delivered.

Hype Meter: 3 out of 5 mediocre returns

While it was still very cool to just see a current WWE champion on TNA’s PPV, it just proves that Vince McMahon doesn’t fear Dixie Carter’s company even a little bit. He knew TNA would have it mean nothing and definitely got the better end of the Flair-Christian deal.
