SEC Football Top 150 Players: No. 80, T'Sharvan Bell, Auburn DB
The SEC Blog will be counting down the top 150 players in the SEC every day, concluding on Aug. 30, at the start of the college football regular season.
80. T'Sharvan Bell, No. 22, Auburn Defensive Back
2011 stats: 45 tackles, two tackles for loss, one sack, two interceptions
Strengths
Bell emerged as one of Auburn's top defensive backs late during the Tigers' 2010 run to the BCS National Championship. The 6'0", 185-pounder is a solid cover cornerback who plays above his size when helping out against the run. He's one of the vocal leaders of Auburn's young defense.
Weaknesses
Bell tore his ACL and MCL in Auburn's late-season loss to Georgia in 2011. He missed most of spring practice recovering from his injuries. Recovering from a serious knee injury like that is not easy, particularly at a position like cornerback that requires a lot of stress on the knee. This will certainly be something to watch as Bell looks to finish off his Auburn career in 2012.
2012 Prediction
If Bell is healthy, he absolutely can be a star in the SEC at cornerback. Bell and fellow defensive back Chris Davis should solidify a cornerback position that has long been a point of concern for the Auburn faithful.
